Thanks! I was pretty nervous at first. I got a couple dirty looks, but overall it went really well.

pkjr, your mcDs shot gave me a solid chuckle and definitely had some underlying messages to it. Solid submission!

SconnieHailer, your MOM photo was a strong contender for me. I was really looking for photos that evoke emotion and have a deeper meaning. I believe a photo is far more than how big you can print it or how sharp it is. I love my momma and this made me think of all she's done for me. Thank you :)

baconbits2_98, definitely a candid moment on that face haha devistated. Good job! Part of the challenge was to get outside the comfort zone as well and photograph some people we don't know so maybe try that in the future, but this dude is definitely about as candid as it gets haha great entry!

Blackdawg, yours was another entry that I was dead set on for a good while. And it keeps calling me back, even to this moment. The strength is two-fold for me. Not only are these very candid faces that do evoke emotion for sure, but they also bring back memories and I think that is a huge part of street/candid work. This sledding photo was my winning pick for quite a while haha SUCKS that I can't pick at least 3. IMO, your photo brings back memories and makes me smile/generates emotion the best of the entries. Great work, man!

m3bassman, I don't know why you were down on this photo! Must be the artist critiquing his own work ha This was a strong runner for me. It isn't any one thing but I like the composition, the dog and owner looking alike, and it just kept calling me back to it. Great shot! Keep getting out there.

medic2230, this guy almost looks like he is leaning into the photo haha he's mean muggin like he doesn't want his photo taken, but leaning in to make sure he's in it ha I'm not sure of the scenario behind it but I appreciate your entry. Your work is always top notch. I also noted that your B&W is a little warmer than others. On purpose?

OneWheelDrive, super good shot! Just in the perfect moment haha I love it. Try and find these perfect moments out away from the comforts of people you know too sometime. It's super fun ha

4lo, this pretty much sums up street work for me and I really liked your other photos, especially the black and white. It is good to hear that you talked with him for a while. Sometimes I shoot and move but it is nice to show some respect and talk to folks for a while, Give a little and not just take. I was pretty set on your photo before I went to bed ha sorry about changing my mind :D too many awesome entries!

l tacoMAS l, special mention has to go to your photo, and ALL of your photographs on the other page as well. If the category was strictly "street" I do believe you would have this in the bag by quite a bit. Not that other's weren't good. Your photos just really stood out to me and really fit the bill. I am also really glad to hear that you got out of your comfort zone and really learned from this whole experience. That is, after all, the whole point of this thread!

92shawman, I really like your lone bridge-walker. The silhouette looks great against that color of sky. It almost has that red dawn / last days kind of feel to it. This is definitely a case like m3bassman's where I think your entry is much stronger than you may see ha I like it a lot, man! Thanks for posting!

skidooman, I'm not sure if you meant for that FOREVER 21 sign to be in the background or not but that was the game changer for your photo for me haha. At first I got a familial feel, and the photographer thing attracts us photographers, but as soon as I saw that sign the message changed entirely (for me). It was more about mommy trying to look young and hip like her daughter and make her daughter look good enough with her fancy soccer mom camera haha I don't know. I could be WAY off the mark, but that's the fun of photography/art. No one interprets it the same.

At the end of this week it is so hard to choose. There are so many great entries and I would have liked to pick at least 3. I felt that the purpose of the exercise was to not only capture a "candid" moment as well as possible but, as it is every week, to get out of our comfort zone and really try to grow.

Any one of these could have been a solid first pick, and it was hard to narrow it down, but for my personal criteria I felt that l tacoMAS l had a very solid entry. If that face doesn't say "candid" I don't know what does haha and I really appreciated that you dove right in, got right up close and personal with people, and attempted to really grow from this, but in the end it was your photo that got you the grand prize my friend, haha. So, this is my pick for the week. Thanks to all so much for the entries. Super good week IMO. See you all next Sunday with whatever challenge l tacoMAS l picks!

Oh, and l tacoMAS l, I noticed you were shooting at f/11. Just wanted you to know that DOF is multiplied by your crop factor as well so us cool kids with crop bodies have greater DOF than those silly folk with full frame cameras. If you need a little more light don't worry about bumping down to f/8 or even f/5.6 for street stuff. Just an observation.

Congrats! I really liked the winning shot as well!

Thanks! You know whats funny is I didnt like that forever21 sign in the shot. My mother, wife and myself were messing with it last night and we all agreed that the sign added something to the pic we didnt want, but if I cropped it out, the photographers head was almost cut off and I didnt like that. I stalked this family and the photographer pretty hard for about a half hour. At one point I was behind the family and she was shooting directly at me, but I was up a little higher. I think she was getting annoyed so I moved on. Thanks for the criticism, I really appreciate it. Thanks for the challenge, it definitely got me out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed it.
