I had a 400 ex it wasn't too bad, what scares me are all these new utility quads. My brother inlaw just bought a Can Am 850 the front wheels come off the ground, it's fast as shit and I bet (or at least feels like) it weighs almost as much as a small car.

Sounds like a Grizzly is what you need! DueNorth and I have were discussing them in our build threads about a week ago. I shared most of my experience, feelings, and some pics. My friend has a 450 and it's pretty sweet. Plows the driveway really nice too! Though my 700 will damn near climb over it haha!

And don't buy a Honda. You'll hate yourself. You've got a Yamaha bike. Go all Yamaha. Best choice overall.

 

I dont know right from wrong on this matter but in every other vid the lighter fluid was put on the top bead...this guy put it on the bottom..... is that why it it blew up so much more than evey other vid.?

That is what I heard about the belt driven. Banshees where pretty cool as long as you wanted to go straight. Still my favorite sport quads are the old Honda 250r, fast and handled like a beast. I believe they stopped making them before you where born.

 

Well let's see, yours was losing coolant at only 5k. My friend has a grizzly with nearly 12k on it and the only things he replaced were wheelbearings and a cv axle (his fault, ran through a downed tree and a branch ripped the boot and mud destroyed the joint) And I've ridden a brute...once. Never again. POS as far as I'm concerned. Uncomfortable and the steering felt like crap. Rode a couple weeks ago with a friend who has a can am 1000 and I took 1 look over it and cringed at the suspension/brakes. Plus my grizzly out climbed it all day!

 

I have a friend and another brother inlaw that has the Suzuki 750 they are ok they tend to over heat a lot. The brother inlaw that bought the Can Am had killed his Grizzly it just took 10 years abuse. The wife has an old Rancher she bought in 02 and the only thing I have ever done to that was change that oil, replaced the air filter, replaced the battery a couple times and put gas in it.

 

Honestly, to me, it's really all personal preference. One of my best friends rides Hondas and is trying to scrape together some coin to get a Yamaha. I love how easy they are to do work on (if it needs it)! My dad's Grizzly has 3800 miles on it and they were not easy miles! I changed the wheelbearings and front brakes last winter on it. That and oil changes are all that it's been done to it otherwise besides a CV joint. And that was a really easy fix too!

I agree but a alway had both. They both have their pros and cons,
I prefer my kids on 2 wheels.

Now I am still waiting on DSM to send my shocks.
