So I'm just going to put this out here for every one to think about. I am Mossberg 500 series, Remington 700 series, Glock, Beretta 92 series, Benelli M1 and M2 series, and Armalite AR -15 and AR -10 armorer certified. Just in case someone might need something fixed. Let me know if you do.

Meh I like the western slope. The hunting in Moab is not good. :D
Nice, I don't have any of those but I'm sure a few people on here do.
    I have no more ar-15 :(
What you need to know. I don't know a lot but I may be able to help a little.

There's pain that feels like the tendon where my fingers are is super taut. It started yesterday after a short bout of running and jumping (I swear it wasn't anything illegal), and now when it bends about 1/3 of the way down it has the pain untill I'm all The way down. Then it then feels like it should be popping out of place, but it doesn't but the pain stops. It hurts the same when my knee is under load, or not.

Yep, that's it. Just the way I sold it. I sold it with the camper shell and yak rack on it. The bed rack was off at the time.

First off I'm no doctor this is just my educated guess. Sounds like runners knee, aka patellar tendinits. They make knee straps designed to help it. I use to get it bad a few years ago. I just took I t easy and it eventually went away( I would assume it's from the running and jumping as was mine). I would give it a break for a little. I also have tendon issues in my left arm I tore my tricep tendon a few years ago. I still get pain every now and again but I rub tiger balm on it when I start to feel pain and it helps me.

Since I had it iced, the pain has shifted to the other side of the knee. Could this mean a floating piece of cartilage in there?

No to the floating piece of cartilage. As Hoyal said, its most likely patellar tendinitis. You should rest, ice, and look for a knee strap with padding around the patella.

I wrapped it, iced it, and elevated it last night just precautionary. There is absolutely no pain right now. I can run up stairs with a backpack on and feel nothing

I actually do work in the medical field, and my fiance' has luxating patella issues. These guys are correct, it's likely related to inflammation. The knee straps really seem to help my fiance', and it seems to help a lot of other people I know with these symptoms.

Keep an eye out for ACL inflammation too as the luxation can sometimes be related to partial ACL tears.

Just wanted to reinforce everyone's good advice. :)

But there is no possibility that I tore my meniscus and now there's a floating piece of cartilage in my knee?

I mean I have worked in the medical field for the last 8 years. I was just stating I'm not a doctor and I'm only offering my opinion. :)
As said above I would think if anything it would be acl. I dot know how hard you were working and to what extent you were jumping. If you are truly worried I'd call your doc and get an MRI.

I was SPRINTING to the point where I was almost running too fast for my legs. Looked up and saw a bush. Decided that there was no way in hell I was going to be able to stop or go around it. The bush was a strange one. It was like 2.5 feet high, and like 10 feet across. I cleared that shit. The pain started that night after I got home.
