There was at least one other thread talking about TPS problems, and not being able to find the 4 pin TPS used starting in 2003, compared to the older 3 pin TPS. If you go to any autopart store, they will give you a 3 pin based on what their database tells them.

Aside from a few other internet stores, CarQuest can get the 4pin, you just need to specify. The one I just bought is even genuine Toyota, came in a Toyota box, made by Denso. Cost was $95 after tax. Haven't installed yet, as mine seems to not be acting up after sitting for over a month, so I'm going to wait until I get the studder again. Here are pics of what I got. I wanted to make an easy to find thread about this to help out anyone else in the future.

It doesn't make sense that the dealer cannot get this part, but it's true.

Some of this Some of that
Ive heard of people having to order them overseas in 5 at a time quantities. Good for you sourcing just one! I believe there was a revised design, so the dealer sells the whole Throttle body with the new style tps, and don't sell just the old style tps.

I don't know about overseas, but I got this guy from my local CarQuest, took them a day to get it.

My local dealership, Haley Toyota, could only resource the entire throttle body, as you stated.

    ...too much shit to list.
The dealer only source the entire TB because the TPS and APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor...the one on the front of the TB) are tied and calibrated together.
