5 uppers from Dec 4th shipped, another 5 uppers from Nov 26th still processing. Patience is a hard thing for me. I remember when everything was measured in weeks for ordering from catalogs, then things became nearly instant with Amazon and such so it is hard to go back to weeks

Ordering from PSA is like listening to a bad joke. If you wait long enough, you will eventually get it.

CMMG parts kits are way better than PSA. Just a little word of advice, the bolt catch from PSA wobbles a lot because it's too thin, and my trigger and hammer pins started walking the moment I started shooting my gun. I won't buy a PSA parts kit ever again...

Glock mag 9mm lowers and uppers. Nice to use same mags in carbine and pistol.

What's your opinion on PTAC or RRA LPKs? I bought one of each to see which one I like better.

I never waited more than a week for parts ordered from PSA when building my first AR this past summer. If you want to see a wait, try ordering a finished AR from LaRue. I'm 11.5 months into waiting for my OBR 5.56 and there are others who have waited a lot longer than me. Everyone tells me that a LaRue is worth the wait, so I wait.

RRA LPK's are good, I haven't used PTAC, I ordered a bunch of CMMG kits a while back after a bit of asking around what's best, the big ones were CMMG and RRA, the kits blackforge sells are really good too. DPMS is just a no go for me. I don't like anything they make but that's my personal opinion. I just tend to stay away from cheaper companies stuff. Lately the small businesses like blackforge, CIV tactical and GPI have been making better stuff.

Good to know. I picked up a RRA kit for $60 in a local group buy and the PTAC kit because it was $30. Locals using the PTAC kit said they function better with a wet sand on the action pieces to make for a more crisp break but it is a cheap kit and shoots like one. I plan to pick up a cheap lower and drop the PTAC kit in it and mate it with the PTAC upper I bought during the black Friday deals. I'll keep the RRA kit in a nice lower that will eventually be mated to a matched upper that will be built up as a HBAR.

LaRue is worth the wait. I have 3 more on order with no ETA and no complaints.

Lately I'm hearing LaRue is lacking with QC, so be weary of that. My friends OBR pin weld on his muzzle brake melted and he got it within the last few months. He wasn't firing fast either. I also know QC is down because a friend of mine who's a rep for multitasker tools knows them quite well, they're trying to fulfill orders as quick as possible, hence the slight slack in QC.

I am hoping so. I have a 5.56 OBR and a 7.62 OBR on order with LT. Maybe I will see them sometime in 2014. I can wait as well.

Any reccomendations on a flash hidder or compensator for a 5.56 bull barrel? I'm thinking about cutting the threads off and recrowning the barrel for a finised look. I just dont want to put a thread protector or a skinny break on a fat barrel. Any suggestions with a link would be of great help before I cut this beautiful barrel. Thanks

Check out the Nordic Corvette comp. also what kind of barrel is it? An SPR profile barrel or an actual heavy bull barrel with a .936" diameter?

Started assembling my lower today and promptly stopped after I botched the first step. Rookie mistake, sent the detent pin across the room (can't find it). So, I went online and ordered 4 more for my second attempt
