I think we should strap you to the bottom of 5luggers truck and just let you hold his frond end together. After all, how much strength can it take, right?

they absorb, which also puts forces to the lca, which isnt much from the coilover. do you know what a bump stop is? do you know where it is located on this truck? pretty sure its bumps off the lower. that is where the most force will be.

and im the dumbass, lol, someones getting angry over there :D

Ya Shock ( not a shock absorber) vectors never exist in an off road application...

Yes when the bumps are needed the force will be transfered through the lca to the truck frame. I can tell you without tests these arms will only handle a few of those impacts without breaking.
But if you know that you could valve your shock very heavy and blow that up before bending the arms. Its a give and take. the more he tries the better just encourage him to be safe.

You think camburg, tc, dirt kings, icon, test there shit in a nasa clean room. No they throw it on and get some real world experience it doesnt matter what the computer says. If they crash they will start over or they die doing what they love either way its gonna be a fun ride.

    He should test offroad.

There are cars where i live that are modified just as dangerously in mexico. i will sell you one for a great price...it may have been a salvage title last week but now its brand new.

Also i have seen people use tools like a crescent wrench as material to weld there suspensions back together and finish the race...

So you guys think fabricators that work at places like jimco, ickler, geiser, perrys, are all rocket scientists with advanced degrees in physics and mechanical engineering right....getting payed 20 bucks an hour or per piece yeah i'm sure.

Im getting mad bc you are all closed minded and assuming that parts ordered from some company are better than anything you could build without ever trying it. Have some confidence in yourselves. You probably like expensive art too...

Obviously there is a lot to learn but the op is trying.

just realize there is a risk of you dying while doing it. The same risk you take when you enter a race or drive with new bolt on parts anyone could do a bad install or make a bad part in any given day.

And its my day off so this is what i like to do after three days working non stop with morons.

I think i'm going to build my own iPad instead of buying one. I'm sure I can do a better job in my garage than Apple could do designing and engineering one.

Said it once, and I will say it again.. Common sense isn't so common..

Now, I can venture to guess that no one in here is against custom fab work, and in fact, many people prefer it.. The problem myself, and most of the members in here have with this whole debacle is that the OP hacked up his already weak, stock control arms and decided to booger weld new material in to make said arms longer..

If you want to make your own shit, go right ahead.. But do it the right way. Start with a design, wether on solid works, cad, shit, a paper napkin, but start with a design first.. From there, gather fresh materials, and start from scratch.. Don't put others in danger bc you "think" that you know what you are doing..

There is a reason for every stupid warning label you read on products these days.. It's because some people are just that stupid.... hmmm, I wonder what will happen if I put my arm in a wood chipper????? Common sense, use it.

so much AWESOME in this thread that has nothing to do with the OP, feels like I am on PIRATE4x4.

    you're*
last i heard they couldn even get decent billet

If you didn want .02's you shouldn have posted this hodge podge of elmers glue, popsicle sticks, and duct tape.

YAY EVERYBODY GETS A TROPHY :(

You drive everyday, dont see us getting our pantsys in a bunch.
    Nice supernatural find
    LMAO, would work better

Did you see the shit as consistency in his heat/penetration?
No just because you got it hot does not make it stronger. If you want to harden the steel "strengthin" it you need to slow down the cool rate of the steel. I.E. putting it in a vat of oil till it comes to outside temperature. Also that is not good penetration, those spots where you have no heat marks is where it will crack under stress. The additions you added to the stock is the weakest parts as you have now changed the original consistency of the material at the weld points. Those ends will snap. If you want to do this right you need to JIG out your stock arms and then build new. If adding to old was all it took TC, CAMBURG, FOX, KING wouldn be reinventing the wheel everytime something new came out.

This work is unsafe and will result in catastrophic failure.
