Yup. with a shitty harbor freight tire chuck. Even with the nice arb tire chuck it still gets cold. Four tires, then wait, then do another four. Not that bad.

But your not filling the entire tank from scratch (tire and tank pressure will equalize)...big thing either way is you need a compressor that puts out good CFM in the pressure range needed. The ARB Dual advertises 6+CFM but thats at 0 PSI. Marketing smoke and mirrors.

Looks like you can get parts for the ARB compressors so rebuild it!

No you are not filling the tank from scratch, but you are still filling it. So say you have a 5 gallon tank at 200 psi and it fills up one of your tires from say 15psi to 35 psi. The tank is now at 35 psi just like the tire is. When you hook up to the next tire the 35 psi in that tank is going to drop down to maybe 16 psi when it equalizes out with the 15 psi in the 2nd tire. Now you are filling both the tire and the tank up at the same time (unless there is a shutoff valve to separate the tank) so that when the 2nd tire is at 35 psi the tank is now also at 35 psi and this will repeat for the 3rd and 4th tires.

As for the Dual ARB, they also list the CFM at 29 psi which isn't much lower than most people run their tires at. It puts out 4.65 CFM at 29 psi. The Viair Dual 480C's put out 2.86 CFM at 30 psi. Assuming both numbers are accurate the ARB dual has 60% more air flow at 29-30psi than Viair's best dual compressors. At 0 psi the Dual ARB pumps out 74% more air than the dual Viair's.

Comparing the Single ARB to a single 480C you have 50% more air from the ARB at 0 psi and 43% more air flow at 29-30 psi.

If all you are doing is airing up tires and running an ARB locker I would choose the ARB every time and just skip the tank. Save's money on not having to buy and plumb a tank as well as having to find the space for a tank because unless you are running a 20+ gallon tank I don't think you are saving time and are just putting more wear and tear on your compressor.

For reference my skinny 33's (255/85R16's) hold about 27-28 gallons of air. A 35x12.50R16 is around 33-34 gallons of air. A 5 gallon tank even at 200 psi, just doesn't go very far when airing up tires...

Don't you need to run the ARB manifold for the lockers? +$70 ontop of $600... Air Zenith = $350 @ a more constant CFM across the board.

I think the logic is flawed, more air and higher PSI is always better. I had 12 gallons on my old truck that relied 100% on air to get my truck off the ground after intentionally dropping it on the ground going 90 :D

The ARB lockers come with them so they are included in the cost of the locker. If you have a non-ARB compressor you then have to buy a regulator to keep from blowing up the locker.

If you have enough air in the tank to do all 4 tires, then yes it would be much faster, but if you don't it will be slower. Your 12 gallon tank was probably enough to fill your air bags in one go since they hold a lot less air than 4 tires do.

on the twin ARB, u have to buy the manifold kit. yes, the lockers come with the solenoid, but not the manifold where the solenoid screws into

SO...back to $670ish ARB or a $500 custom set up with better air capacity, PSI and CFM performance, even if marginal. I'm going to go see how many tanks it takes my 1 Gallon compressor @ 140PSI to fill up my 35 from 15PSI to 40PSI. Turning the compressor off every time I fill. Why? Because I have nothing better to do.

My bad then. I didn't know that about the dual ARB's...

And do it! I am curious. If you can also, fill the tank up all the way with the tires at 15 psi and time how long it take to fill all 4 of them up. Just try to do it "quick" but like you probably would on a trail going from one tire to the next. If you can get individual times for each tire would be even better to see how much slower the last tire is than the 1st, although a 1 gallon tank may not slow it down too much. Although that might be pointless if you compressor can fill the 1 gallon tank up before you get to the next tire.

And I still think (unless ARB is lying out their ass with their numbers) that the ARB compressors have much better CFM than the Viairs. Obviously over 90 psi the Viairs are better since the ARB's shutoff at 90 psi, but again if you are just filling tires anything over 50 psi is pretty much overkill.

Where did the other one go? Need more data to decide which one I should took.

The absolute pressure exerted by a given mass of an ideal gas is inversely proportional to the volume it occupies if the temperature and amount of gas remain unchanged within a closed system

if your paying 600 bucks for just a dual arb, u suck at buying shit. i paid 550 for comp and manifold and that was with no coupon or any other shit like that

no matter what tho, buying fittings and lines and other things realy does nickel and dime you to death. i spent more on my viair with tank cuz of that then i have in my ARB and im reusing my Tank for the viair too

I want to pick up an ARB dual and pair it up with my single. My single already has the locker hooked up to it and then I could have a triple and air up my tire much much faster. Hell I could probably run air tools right off that 3 way since the dual can almost do it by itself.
