On this remote part, for those that don't, is it cheating to set the pick up yourself and what not and then have someone else actually take the pic. I guess if you have a tripod you can use the timer though. haha

No, for this, i think more people will participate if its like that. I see no issue with someone pushing the shutter for you.

however, that doesn't mean that someone can just do all the work for you.

You should convey your thoughts and vision to the person, set the camera how you want it to be. Tell them how to compose it, arrange your own back ground(if you doing that...) and all.

They should only be pushing the fire button.

Basically, its your job to come up with the shot and stuff. But someone else can push the button to fire the camera. Cause i know some wont have tripods to be able to use the timer.

I have the cheapo IR remote that correlates with my camera. Nikon ML-L3 or something like that. Cost $12 and gets the job done ha

can't go wrong with that! haha

i should have asked for a nice remote for christmas..or the neo trigger :frusty: totally spaced it..

Id like to try some super long exposures while im home in wy away from the city. and time lapse would be so fun. So the one Murph posted is appealing..

You can lock it open as long as you want. Till the batteries die. It times it for you so you just look at the remote to see how long it's been open.

    Nice!

the remote that Murph posted will do Time lapse basically. It just shoots photos for how ever long you tell it too.

the Neo Trigger II is what i want though..as it'll do lighting shots too and laser activated even sound.

Or there are other fancy control modules. The shoot and move technique for instance takes a controller that shots..then waits..then shoots. But those are usually modules that are dual tripod mounted on belt driven tracks with servos to move the camera as it goes. Thats how you get those time lapses where the camera moves with the environment.

Magic Lantern freeware give your camera a built in intervalometer too so you can do timelapse that way as well.

dude...the Neo Trigger isn't a remote..it does time lapse..i never said it was remote..look it up haha

It gauges light sensitivity. and it'll fire only when lighting strikes.
