Look I'm a realist and know that anyone named in the Texas coaching search is pure speculation but if Texas hires dabo you will be seeing me on the news.

 

Good luck to whatever coach takes on that clusterf*** in Austin. The whole Saban / Mack thing showed just how dysfunctional that place is.

 

It wasn't really that disfunctional.
Saban was never coming he was just looking to get paid. Some behind the scene money guys wanted saban and over stepped their bounds in that deal.
Mack was going to leave but wanted to wait until after the banquet so he could tell his players first. That's why he was heming and hawing about if he was leaving or not. And also why he was pissed that chip brown announced it before he did.

A cluster fuck was bama before saban finally said yes to y'all. Remember grobe being your great white hope at one point.
It wasn't too long ago that y'all went from price to Fran to Shula. Don't think it can't happen again.
It's Mack's own fault for us wanting his head. We were a shit bowl before he got here and then he took us to the highest heights. He set the standard of 10 win seasons and BCS wins. Then he got soft? Complacent? Lazy? Whatever it was.
So now he's gone and we move on to the next era.
You shouldn't believe everything F Baum tells you.

 

I still contend that 98% of Mack's luck was VY and Colt. Without them the bottom would have fallen out long ago.

I remember when Chance Mock was the starter and losing games, VY would come in and save that ass at the end of the game. Next game...Mock starts and fucks up...people clamor for VY...game saved....next game.....start Mock. Rinse and repeat. Mack just never got it.

 

Oh I won't deny that Alabama was a cluster for a while... I was in school for the last season of Dubose, the Fran years, the Price non-years, and the first few with Shula.

I agree 100% that the Saban portion of the Texas story was entirely Jimmy Sexton and some loud-mouth Texas boosters. Saban could have stopped it by saying something, but he wants to get paid just like anybody else. Now he's the 4th or 5th highest paid coach in the country. Saban to the NFL rumors should pretty much die out.

Finebaum is a freaking tool and a troll... I believe very little he says.

Yeah, evaluating the offense....kind of a step in the wrong direction, dontcha think?

 

He's a decent offensive coordinator. Not my first choice, but he's not terrible. He's a bad head coach, but a decent coordinator.

 

He's a GOOD offensive mind... People forget that b/c he's such a clown as a head coach. Saban brings people in from all over during the off season. Lots of baggage w/ Kiffin, so I'm not sure why we bothered w/ him... Probably b/c he's available.

 

He looks just like Tosh.0

 

He's hoping the Saban affiliation will get him the HC job in austin.

I don't think Texas has quite the pull it once did. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like too many big name SEC coaches are chompin at the bit to get to Austin. Not knockin Texas here. Maybe the media has sensationalized the job a bit...

 

The media has enlightened the world regarding the good ol boy attitude at UT and shown it to be a discombobulated mess akin to Jerry Jones' Cowgirls organization.

There's also the Longhorn Network with its constant coach bothering and filming practices and shit. Who wants to deal with that?

Perhaps the new AD will get things straightened out but at the moment texas looks like clownshoes after the past season.

 

Even the local news is riffing on the fact nobody seems too interested in the job so far...not even chief meteorologist Chikage Windler

 

Maybe Mack Brown shouldn't pack up his office?
