    Yeah, I have bought a fair amount of beer now. haha. And what is all this stuff I leave behind? I know I left my jacket once. haha In fact you still have it...


    I know you don't have a break... And I'm guessing this might take more than a weekend... I assume we'll do it at your dad's, and if so I can continue to work on it during the week, but since I can't weld and likely can't learn to weld good in a week I doubt I can do much between weekends besides disassembling the truck more. Cameron may be free some and we'll see how up to welding he feels. Maybe he can work on some of the gussets that shouldn't be too hard to weld.

    yea and i doubt ill have the money for your 4.88s then either.

    Just watch the spindles. easy to warp them.

    Yeah, TC recommends doing a little on one side then move to the other side for a bit and just keep bouncing from side to side until you are done. Apparently you can install the gussets with the spindles still on the truck, but I think I will remove them anyway since I will have the LCA off to install the cam tabs and replace the bushing and ball joints on the LCA.

    honestly im so done with yall telling me how shitty i am at welding (which is fucking frustrating because when i graduated high school i was decent), im going to go figure out how to weld with that piece of shit in my garage. with a nice welder like konstas got laying down a bead takes a couple tries to set it right. this piece of shit i have is just giving me such a head ache! Since i last poested i went out in my garage and just went to town and was welding non stop, i used up the last of my spool too. i figured out a flaw in my technique i had to fix...but no matter what I do the beads are just small and the dimes are waaay too close together, any attempt to fix it just resulted in hole being blown.

    (yes i did just put this in bradys build, but its relevant)


    its just a lot easier to weld flat than doing vert ups. if you are taking them off it would be worth it

    What temp and speed are you on?
    Rod at 15-30 degree angle?
    Pushing or pulling?
    What kind of movement are you doing with the molten as you lay the bead?

    I did mine on the truck, but if I had to do it again would take them off. Easier to get the grinder around. I used a flux core wire with a high nickel content (ten gauge brand) and haven't had any cracks or issues, although I'm sure any wire would get the job done. Not a good "learn how to weld" project. I found even with the cam gussets the alignment still moves on hard hits, so I ended up tack welding the cams. This pretty much negates the whole point of the gussets. I just did uniballs today, the lowers are a bear without a press. I got it done, but it wasn't pretty. Also got my heim uppers in and camber back to normal...sweet.
