    I'm looking at 17x9.5" wheels.

I don't want them to stick out too much.

Options for back spacing are 4" or 4.75". Any input, or anyone know someone running these sizes so I can take a look?

The 4.75" backspacing will look exactly like anyone's 17x9's with 4.5 backspacing, which his almost 90% of the aftermarket wheels run on TW.

I don't have any pics handy but my old black ProComp 7089's were 17x9 with 4.5 bs.

Hmmmm...wondering if I should go with 4.75. If 4"BS sticks out a few inches with no spacers. 4.75 should work well with 2" lt.

only thing I can see being problematic is spacing from the spindle

Yeah...how far was your wheel from the spindle? Not the spindle gusset if you had one, but the spindle itself? 4.75 would move the wheel toward the spindle 3/4". Then as long as the 12.5" tire clears.
