sooo i did this the other weekend at big bear, havnt driven the truck since i got home from there. now i need to drive 200 miles ish where Jason will be mounting these deavers and shackles. theres another leaf wrapped around the eyelet so i think it should be okay, but should i bother clamping that top one down onto the pack somehow? either way i plan on cruising nice and slow and it didn't feel weird on the way home from bear surprisingly so I think it will be alright.

I don't have straps on my DMZ kit. My spring hangers are notched a 1/4" to let my shackle cam over a little more. I still have 1" or so of shock shaft left once the shackle bottoms.

That isn't hard on the leafpack? My understanding was limit straps protect the leaf pack from separating the leafs too much which puts a lot of stress on individual leafs.

That is small potatoes brother. One hammer whack and they are identical. Custom parts are never perfect and you will always have to tweak, bend, cut, grind to make it all work.

TC makes great stuff and that is not something to stress about.

Yeah. I basically said that in the posts following. Just came as a surprise to me and seems like it would be something that would have been really really easy to fix on their end.

Why are you driving all the way to San Diego to do your rear end?
I would find some way to clamp it..

I'm not saying don't run them, straps are cheap insurance for for shocks and the event of possibly separating your leafs. I'll probably run them eventually but they're not on the list of high priorities right now.

I see. I'm not running them on my current setup but I don't care about my leafs or shocks and surprisingly my shocks have worked decently as limit straps. haha

Well put me down as another defined kit that has the shackle rubbing the hanger.

    Lots of expensive shit
That's the least of your worries when installing those. Cold rolled sheet fluctuates in thickness over the course of the sheet, and when your doing 100s of the same part, its way too much work to try to asjust the pressure to compensate on every part. This shows absolutely nothing negative about TCs quality.

I see, so they just stuff the part in a press and it is set up to just bend it how it needs to bend? I don't know why, but I envisioned someone bending it by hand where you just start bending until you get it right, not just a push the button and it stops when it's done. Obviously I am more familiar with backyard fabbing than big business fabbing...

I will probably flip the shackle eventually. One guy already did on the forum with good results.

I would have loved to have done a DMZ kit but I don't trust myself to weld it in precisely the right spot. And in bumfuck missouri there is not a shop that understands long travel suspension.

Shackle must be flexing side to side and rubs the hanger slightly. Maybe it's my spring perch placement but I don't think that's the case.

    So another question...

On top of everything else, both limit straps are already 1/4 tore through... So any readily available solution? Double up?
