I'd bet on it! The reason I asked with a question mark is the size of the chest on the one in your picture. What a fine specimen, you have some great stock to start with. Yeah I hunt mainly ruff grouse in thick woods so have always tried to keep my dogs in fairly close. When in SD phez hunting want a bit further ranging dog but those EP that run 3-400 yards out are worthless to me. I've seen them drag a stake out of the ground when the owners stake them down to take a blow. A bit too much for me. And I know better to argue with any man that shoots with his barrels stacked side by side and 2 triggers on his gun. Class act full of tradition right there. Well done good sir!!

He was my first male & I still go back to his line. Ran in AKC field trials for years. Finished 3 dogs (A.F.C., F.C. & 2 master hunters) then started hunting full time in out short winters. Still judge AKC from time to time but real love is just hunting with pals & watching the dogs work. This bitch is 13 now the fire is gone but she still loves to hunt but I just leave her on the ground for 20 or 30 min. at a time. She was something back in her day,,:)[IMG]:D:D

If he chews his bed, do not get him another one. That just encourages bad behavior. Run him, walk him, play with him and tire him out. A GOOD dog is a TIRED dog!!!

Get some nylabones - they have various styles and sizes. Also try a Kong for tough toys.

    Haha ^^

I just had a nap with my gsd. He jumped up on the couch and wanted some attention. Ended up using him as my pillow, and he used my arm! Gsd's have unique personalitys.

For sure. These two have very distinct, very different personalities. The big guy on the left is the mean sounding bully that doesn't like other dogs. Yet he is also the cuddler on the couch and hates/is afraid of the vacuum. The girl on the right might as well be a golden retriever in GSD skin. But boy does she boss him around when he needs it.

Most people are lucky to have had 1 Master Hunter, you've done a heck of a job! I've played gunner for some retriever trials but never ran in them, just backyard classics and specialty trials before AKC recognized Tollers. You have some beautiful dogs and they have done well because of you.

I was going to ask you because of your handle on here if it meant what I thought it did by asking if Brown Water Navy meant anything to you. Checked your profile out and it sure does. Hard to say much except- Damn... And thank you.

My dog named Bear. Got him from an animal shelter. He's supposedly a mix/mutt of chesapeake bay retriever and chocolate lab.

His paws will fit comfortably in my wife's shoes. :D

I hate that I'm gone 15/21 days at a time right now. Every time I come home he hops around and cries because he is so excited. I'm worried he is going to hop the house down.

This until the slightest clunk from the dryer, dishwasher or god forbid any sound from outside, then within seconds she transforms into a ferocious wolf like beast ready to kill.
