I agree, most people do not need bead locks, but it is something I am interested in at some point down the road. And I don't really care about what someone else thinks about my truck, it is all a personal preference kind of thing anyway which is the why behind the first part of it. That probably does not make much sense, and in that case, reference the first part about not really caring what someone else thinks. :p

I have not personally ran bead locks before, but I have helped friends put them on their rigs and have driven those same vehicles both on and off the road. They are heavy and pricey and designed with a specific purpose in mind, so given that, I, too, agree--the great pricing of SCS wheels would be just a weeeeee bit higher if they ended up doing a dedicated bead lock..but I have no doubt it would look great.

And still, like I said before, these wheels might turn me on to the street lock style. :)

Can I trade in my slightly used Stealth 6's for a set of these? Love my Stealth's, but those look cool to me. Ithink, I'm just kidding.

The picture is just a rendering and I choose that color to help show the details of the wheel design better. We haven't officially decided on the finishes yet, but I'm positive that it'll make most of you guys happy;).

    Lol, winter and summer set:D.

Btw, the day after Christmas, we're going to release the final rendering so be ready to get mad at me for even more teasing.

Once everything is all lined up and ready to go, we'll definitely do a GB for the SR8.

    Two questions:

1: Is it at all feasible to manufacture a removable ring that uses the existing "beadlock" bolts? I'm not talking about a part of the actual wheel lip itself, which is what is primarily being discussed in all of the beadlock talk; I'm talking simply a thin piece of aluminum(say 1/8"?) as a fascia over the lip that is held on by the beadlock bolts, that can be removed for painting/replacement.

2: Any chance one of the color finishes will land somewhere between the silver and the gunmetal of the 6's? I would love to see something darker than the silver(as it looks almost white in some pictures), but lighter than the gunmetal(which looks almost black in some pictures). Possibly even a machine finished?

As much as I love my black wheels, unless it's a very bright day, you can hardly even tell what they are, and sadly there just aren't very many attractive wheels out there in lighter finishes.

On a real beadlock, yes. Are you saying that these wheels will already have a removable cosmetic ring? My understanding was that the beadlock bolts on these wheels, while actual bolts, are simply cosmetic. Did I miss something?

Yea the bolts and the rings are just for looks..but the ring is still removable. PRetty sure i read that a while ago..

    These aren't real bead locks.

they are faux-beadock rings that will apparently be removable. If you missed the past mention of this, then yes, you missed something...

edit : fack, I must type slow

    Thanks for the clarification.

I fully understand that these aren't real beadlocks, hence my question about a faux ring. I obviously missed the part about them already being removable, otherwise I wouldn't have asked the question.

good point. I remember Vin mentioning this in a response to someone else who was asking about the possibility of running the wheels without the rings.
Of course the wheels aren't completed yet so this could possible change I suppose

Thanks again. I remember the question being asked about different color options for the bolts and rings, but I didn't catch that the rings would actually be removable.
