If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Maybe it will stay there for hundreds of years, perfectly preserved like a Woolly Mammoth.

x2 tent some scaffolding with heavy rubber tarps and torpedo heaters. works well to thaw out frozen solid sand for some winter masonry.

Painful to comprehend just leaving it there and basically giving up on it. I would personally burn it myself before I just left it for any scavengers. Guess I'd up the 5k to unstuck it if I cared about it enough. Hard to say since it isn't mine. Icey wheelin only in someone else's rig for me......I think the bedbug tent and heating shit to 130 to thaw shit out with something on standby to yank it out at the right moment is the way to go.

I love how when a TW member screws up and rolls his truck everyone jumps to aw man, good thing he has insurance, but when someone else screws up everyone calls them a dumbass.

FWIW I think they are all dumbasses and no way no how should insurance cover any offroading, the risk should be on the vehicle owner. But IMO if they cover one idiots stupidity, they should cover all, and this guy included.

This is very similar to the last "TW Rescue me thread" for the guy who rolled, then further showed his stupidity by trying to start his truck without purging the cylinders of engine oil and fubar'd his engine. All the nutswingers were telling him to claim it on his insurance, now those same folks are making comments that this fools insurance should tell him to pound sand?!

What's the difference between rolling and getting stuck in a cold situation? Or is it TW members can be complete dumbfuck idiots but no one else can?

My opinion is ponce it leaves the road you should be responsible for what happens, no one else (insurance company).

Some company's will pay for off road damage as long as your not at an organized event. There isn't a huge difference however wasn't the other guy on a class 5 state road?

But in that case...is the FJ on the trail or off trail in these photos?

If he's off trail and this happened, I have no sympathy.

been thinking about this since the very first post. that ice can exert so much force, that if they get it out in "one piece" i wouldn't be surprised if he had a mess of bent components under the vehicle. whether it did or not, there's probably enough potential behind that freezing and tawing, to bend an axle housing.

Can't wait for updated pics and (fingers crossed) VIDEO!!!!

As far as the insurance thing goes, the most serious offroading I do is around job sites for work. I would want my insurance to cover damages. Granted, I don't push the limits near as much as many of you do for fun.
