Going faster it has less time to react to the hole? Maybe that comes into effect

    yep, thats progressive valving

how most people tend to like it so they get that more planted feeling at higher speeds.

i guess instead of speeds..we should be saying..shock movement speed..cause the fast the cycle of the suspension..the stiff it gets for progressive..and softer it gets for digressive.

My sway aways on my 1st gen rode like shit on the road. I have ridden in trucks with icons, and they road like clouds.

So I think its just a crap shoot

    haha

Thanks man! On both accounts :D haha

It needed it though. There thread is too big now not to have that haha

really? i have been in a truck with SAWs and they ride better then any OME or my 5100s..but thats no surprise i guess..

but i kinda agree..you'll never know what you like till you try it..and if you have only tried one other thing over stock..you don't really know if you'd love or hate the other option. But at the same time..if you love your new setup..why bother changing it?

I think the big advantage of ORI's over C/O's (besides being easier to tune) is that I don't trade pre-load for ride height. Sure you can add longer springs but that only gets you so far before the springs are pre-loaded by just being in the C/O itself like my 886's were in the 5100's. IFS doesn't flex that great in static situations like rock crawling, and preload makes that even worse. I can have ride height and they still flex good in the rocks.
Given the setup I stated above there is no thinking to it until I get into the intense crawling that you don't just braap though. If I am crawling, I set it to rocks, trail opens up switch it to dunes and braap away. That simple.

In the rocks, again IFS doesn't flex well like SA setups do. so with this setup I can easily and quickly just flip some switches and basically force it to flex, or encourage it to flex even more as I go.

The whole thing would be pricey as hell! but so would be getting the Solo kit and tearing out the DMZ kit for custom 4 links. haha. By the time I get to where I can afford this, my wife and I will probably be burning money because we have nothing better to do with it. I imagine my rig will be pretty much complete at this point as well so why not have another cool idea to wrench on the rig some more.

It could be nice for tuning as well if it is easy to reprogram. I could have 3 different "dunes" settings programmed in and go hit the dunes and see which I like better. Maybe eliminate the bad one and for a 4th setup and try it out while I am still out there. Find that sweet spot easy, instead of having to go try out the shocks, then head home and tear them apart and revalve them to something else and go back out and try it again, or try to do it while I'm out there on the trail and risk dropping shit or loosing too much or contaminating the oil or whatever else could go wrong.

For now it is just a fun idea I think. Will it happen anytime soon. Fuck no. haha

I found one pretty easily that can handle up to 870 psi for $155. Found several other that have maxes from 1450 psi to 7250 psi. Couldn't find prices, but those ones might be pricey. haha

What predicting is going on here? I guess predicting that we eventually will. haha More like dreaming of things to spend it on. haha My wife is about 6 months away from making $40,000+ per year though (that's an underestimate) and is almost guaranteed a job due to the high demand and the cool thing about that is she basically makes no money right now and I have been paying all of our bills and will continue to, so all that money will go right into the savings account after she pays back her $8K student loan. Then I will graduate in about 18 months  and will hopefully find a job  and we will have dual income and make bank! Hopefully. haha

Why 2000? My shocks were too high at 800 psi and when I add the resi's I should need even less pressure. I should be able to easily get away with a 1000 psi one.

well if the seals are made for 1500psi or so..i remember reading 1200-1500 or soemthing..id want to over build..especially for something like that..

Plus yea they re are up too 800 for ride height..but doesn't that get compressed when the shock gets compressed? so really..doesn't it get compounded?

I think we are leaning towards no kids. Just dogs, haha. Dogs will be our kids and they are much cheaper. House will be pricey but I doubt it will cost that much more than what we are paying for rent right now, and between the two of us we will be making way more money than I am as a college student working for minimum wage... Hell even just picking up a full time job at minimum wage and her getting a full time job at minimum wage would quadruple our current income.
