So I have a 2004 4x4 ex cab. The front is lifted on Bilstein 5100's with stock coils on the middle ring position (not optimal but I cant afford tearing CV's). I have 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on aluminum wheels.

I have had it aligned twice and the tires stay properly inflated when I can remember. I got the tires rotated after I noticed that the inside of both tires were wearing much faster than the rest of the tire. About 15k miles after rotation the front tires have now worn out on the inside as well, both have worn the same amount. Pretty bad. It's pretty aggravating considering the rest of the tire still has great tread.

SO my question would be, is it possible that the lift could be making the tires wear like this? The truck rides great with very little vibration. I don't understand why the tries keep wearing like this. I've read alot of reviews of the nitto TG's and it doesn't seem common so I know the problem is with the truck.

    Any insight?

Did you take it to the same shop to get it aligned? That sounds like an alignment problem IMO.

X2, sounds like you have a negative camber issue. If the shop can't adjust that out, perhaps a camber kit will do the trick.

If the rest of the tread is good and you haven't worn through the cord, I would consider flipping the tires on the rim and get the most out of them.

Two different places. One place was a local place that almost exclusively works on lifted trucks and the second time was at a major chain tire shop. I trust the first place but the chain store I don't.

How often do yall get your front end aligned? Maybe I just waited too long in between alignments? It still seems pretty fast to wear down like they did.

    CW,
I'd go with the shop that you trust. If you have to go back, and it sounds like you do. Ask them if the rest of the suspension looks healthy.

Without looking at your truck, its hard to nail down exactly what the cause may be. The bushings and shocks can wear out and on a 10 year old vehicle that may have had a prior owner that neglected it, who knows what has happened previously. (I'm assuming here that you're not the prior owner).

Even if they put it on the rack and use a laser to check the alignment and say its within spec, given the condition of the wear pattern on the tires, they should be able adjust some of that negative camber out for you or at the very least give you a course of correction.

im gonna go to the shop and explain the situation. Hopefully they can figure it out. I installed the lift about two years ago myself and used all new bushings when I did.

I've only got mine aligned once when they first installed the 3" lift on my truck and I rotate my tires every 5-7K miles and the tires always wear even and I've had my lift for almost 5 years.

    Check out my build
When my wheels are straight its in perfect alignment, but when I turn the camber goes all out of whack and wears the shit out of the edges on the front. I just try to rotate them regularly.
