Yea and dropping it off to get blasted then coming back to chop off the bedsides. Nice I just finished swapping out the springs on the front end then adding some stuff to rear suspension next week and a cb hopefully

swapping springs what happened to the icons?

 

I went to 700# springs instead of the 650# my icons came with. I have ato steel skids. Just the front ifs one is 70lbs so now it won't sag and handle the weight better.

Any particular reason to switch to king from icon?

 

my bad, I didn't exactly specify. I have king springs on icon coilovers. I used king springs because icon doesnt exactly make 700# springs. A good amount of members on here run that same setup it rides pretty well.

How is the on road ride of your icons?

 

I like it but then again I haven't had kings or anything other than icons on all four corners.

 

Comparison to stock? Firmer but still smooth?

 

Definitely firmer but smoother at higher speeds. I have wheelers super bumps as well and it's a good combo with the icons. I also tend to keep my preload down and run about 1-1.5 inches of lift

 

yeah, thats what I plan to do. No more than 2'' of lift. Will probably order the ext. travel Icons and gett some camburg UCA's in near the future.

I just want to level the truck and run slightly larger tires.

Also planned on running super bumps too.

 

Sounds like a good setup. Pretty much what I have except I used the dsm boxed UCAs. I might put my rear icons w/resis up for sale in the near future too

 

what are you going to replace them with?

 

12" king smooth body with resis on the BAMF towers. Just waiting for the Christmas mess to be done haha

Then I might be interested in those icon rears. I know the stock trd shit in the rear wont be able to keep up with the Icons up front.

And did you keep your sway bar on up front? I took mine off my 1st gen when I put on coilovers and UCA's. But I don't know how these 2nd gens behave without one.
