99 PreRunner with 208k. What preventative maintenance should I do?

Just wondering what you guys recommend for preventative maintenance? I have 208k. I have a 2.7L automatic. When should i change out timing belt and water pump etc..

Also, how can I tell if my suspension is blown....the shocks, leafs, bushings...etc.? My ride is stiff and bouncy. Passenger side is about an inch lower than the driverside.

If your stock leafs are flat or have a negative arch (curving downward) then it's time for replacement packs. An Add-a-Leaf is no good in this situation as your main source of suspension is already worn out. If all the suspension is stock with 208k on it, its most likely time for new shocks and springs all around. I have 180k on stock stuff and will be replacing all shocks, coils, leafs, and hardware after the holidays.

 

Timing belt should have been changed at 100k. If not I recommend immediately. Even if no signs of issue just piece of mind it's done.

 

2.7 has a timing chain.

 

Thats awesome! Mine is a 2.7L Prerunner. Thought I had the rubber timing belt. Do I need to change out the chain or get it lubed or anything? Thanks.

 

The timing chain should be fine until it starts to stretch and then when it stretches enough it can wear through the timing cover and then it needs to be replaced. You'll hear it when it starts rattling against the timing cover though.
