First thought I had was cold gun and hot ammo like what was said earlier.

Oddly loud could have been a bad shell I suppose, perhaps too much powder in it and that may have thrown a ball funny. Could have also been loud for the barrel breaking as well.

this could be it as well, rounds constantly hitting the bottom of the sight and stressing the metal and it chose that day to fail, and was probably forced out with the shot and fractured your barrel as it was ripped from its mounting point.

Damn. I missed out on 3¢ per round on 115 gr 9mm, 1000 round pack. For that price I can afford to buy a few thousand. I am beginning to love and hate Gunbot for the deals, and missing them. I signed up there and will hope full catch the next great deal.

I hope you mean .30 per round....otherwise that would be rediculous pricing.

    Anyways, finished my AR finally

No, I did mean three cents per round. $29.99 for the 1000 pack at LAX ammo.
The AR looks good. That is a few guns out for me still. Next on my beginners list is a 12 gauge but that won't happen for a little while. Next big purchase will be tires for the truck.

That is cheaper than .22 ammo......at that price I would go and buy a 9mm instead of my .45

The AR I built piece buy piece though, it makes life a lot easier when it comes to affording it, I am a college student and I just bought it piece by piece.

Average low end range on 9mm I keep seeing regularly is 24¢ per round.

When it comes to an AR, I will probably buy the pieces individually as well. Do the research on each piece to see what will work best for me, then find best price on the part. All I need is about 1 million dollars to get everything I want for now, then I can sit content for awhile.

I am sure it was a mistake. Cheaper than dirt messed up and put some Corbon match 77g HPBT .223 up for $5.75 for a box of 20 instead of the normal $34 for a box the other day. So I ordered 640 rounds of it, of course being the assholes they are they cancelled my order the next day.

If they were smart, they'd rig their page to let GunBot scrub a false price on every SKU. Imagine the traffic if you got GB to report you had Federal bulk pack bricks of 22 LR for $12.95. If it's listed as out of stock on your site, you could blame GunBot and rake in the related sales.

got to shoot my AR this morning (finished building it last night), functions great, got my scope reasonably sighted in, next time I go out I'm bringing a bench rest and 10 round mag to see how well I can get it to really group...I think it is time for me to get some 5.56 reloading dies....

I was shooting 65 grain green tips, with a 1/9 twist barrel, im going to sight it in with 55 grain, I just got a couple of boxes of whatever was cheapest and brass cased at the shop. I was out more to function test and blast a little bit. I'll do some more fine tuning of what I want to shoot later (after christmas break) when I will have time to start reloading as well.

Just ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm. Came out to $254 and change with shipping. Why must the fun hobbies be so effing expensive? Wifey ordered 100 rounds of Underwood 147 gr +P FMJ hollow tips I picked out for the home defense rounds. They are advertised as coming out at 1125 fps. I would have only gotten 50 but I want her to be able to shoot some to get a feel for the gun using those rounds in case she is in the situation. The home defense rounds were about $72 including shipping.

The green tips shoot like crap out of every gun I have seen. If you want to just turn money into noise they are fine. But not worth anything more

I just came home with a new gun today from work. got a J.C. Higgins 103.18 which is a rebranded Marlin 100, I've been working on cleaning it up for the past hour or so. I had to use a punch to apply enough leverage on the fireing pin to get it to slide. I'm working on it now to get it free enough to fire

I was just checking ammo prices again. The 23¢/round on 9mm was sold out already. It was up for 2 hours.

What is a good price per round on 5.56?
