Yeah. I love the show. Religion aside, it was nice to see a real tight knit family depicted on tv. You don't see that often, which is part of the reason why I think its so popular.

 

Not that different. One is feeding the masses food. The other is feeding masses entertainment. They both want you to "buy" their products. Business is all the same. How do we sell our products?

 

Chick fail a has a much much smaller range, I think most of their stores are in the south too
.. while a&e is global and in different countries. A&E has more to lose while chick fil a's clientel are the typical fat american.

 

One caters to a country. The other caters to the world. Sure, they both "feed" the masses, to use food terminology. Just unsure if showing any of these characters on screen makes someone want to eat them, you know?

 

no reason to attack its clientele, just because you don't agree with a statement made by its CEO.

I was just saying that all business is out to sell a product. So in some ways its the same. Even if its different products.

Your probably right... but I did find out their tactic.

A month after the whole thing a statement went up that they were going to stop funding anti gay campaign's... So a lot if not most of us thought it was over and a defeat. 6 weeks later Dan Cathy said in a very cryptic mannor that it hasnt changed any policy to open a new branch in some city that had banned the opening for their stance... So it flew under the radar. I know several people that eat chick fail a often thinking that the company back peddled. Pretty sly...

Barilla the noodle company has back peddled due to share losses...

 

Honestly, I have no idea about any of that. I just know what he said. Is he allowed his belief and opinions? Yes. Would I do the same running a company? No.

Actually, its probably the "healthier" fast food choice. Real chicken, compared to processed shit. That's what I care about, if I'm going that route for dinner. LOL.

Also I don't know what happened with Barilla. I don't really watch news, so I miss a lot. What did they do?

I don't agree with Phil's views on gays, but he's got a right to voice his beliefs. First Amendment, anybody?

 

Show is not (yet) canceled, Phil just won't be filmed.

Mike Huckabee organized a day where everyone against gay equality eat at chick fil a on a specific day. In the wake of a boycott... it was a success, it became a political issue. Cities who were entertaining permits to new franchises said no to them on the opinion. the following week(s) were dead due to the standing boycott but huckabee's eat in gave them months worth of business. Someone at chick fil a sent out a statement saying they back peddled. And weeks later after the LGBT celebrated the win. Dan Cathy said no... but instead of making new articles about beating a dead horse. The media just posted an update on the old archived articles so the masses were not fully aware...

With Barilla... the CEO went on a Italian radio show saying to the affect he will never put gays in his advertisements and that he only wants traditional families eating his noodles and in detail how women belong in the kitchen making his food... the shares dropped upon the boycott....

Barilla is purely an opinion... Dan Cathy opinion goes further to fund campaigns to keep gays from obtaining equal rights

 

The Bill of Rights only applies against government entities.
Phil is free to speak his mind.
A&E is free to refuse to continue to broadcast his image.

 

Im fully aware of california locations. But most are in the south...

They are thriving now but I've seen empty stores and read about them soon after the eat in. But due to some brilliant tactics and timing they got back to normal

 

Less to do with brilliant tactics and timing and more to do with the typical American having the attention span of a 7 year old boy with a case of Pixie Stix.

The anti-Walmart crowd maintains the hate through constantly pounding the public from multiple venues and multiple lies spread through social media.

The LGBT groups are not nearly as efficient, nor are they as tenacious.

 

The First Amendment is alive and well, and he's exercised his right. Now he has to take the fallout, and getting suspended is it. I'll bet Chik-Fil-A is going to make him their spokesman for a ton of dinero.
