Dropped my truck off at the local dealer for the valve spring replacement on the 2.7 recall. Anyone else done that yet? If so, how long did it take?

I dropped mine off today. Left it at the dealer at 8am and had it back by 2pm. Not bad at all.

I was going out of town last week, so I dropped it off on Thursday afternoon and got a call on Friday afternoon that it was finished. They also did my 5000 mile service. Good thing is that it's running as good as it did before.

Did you guys get a letter in the mail or something? First I've heard of this. I see you both have '13's

Yeah, you can look around on this forum and see several threads about a recall for 2013 Tacomas with the 2.7 four cylinder. Toyota evidently got a bad batch of valve springs and trucks with that engine built during the summer (not sure of the dates) have been recalled to replace them. Affected truck owners received a recall letter from Toyota.

Jack, I got my letter in the mail on Monday and had the work done Wednesday. Took about six hours total, and that included the 5000 mile service work. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I swear the engine sounds a lot quieter after they replaced the valve springs. You should get a letter if you are part of the recall. I think it is just on the 2.7 liter Tacomas that were built between July and October of 2013. Mine was built in July according to the sticker on the door jam. Where are you located in Kentucky?

I'm in Newport, Ky. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about then, I have a 2006 2.7l. Love this motor!
