I hate to do it, but I almost think it's worth having a section of the site reserved for the most basic, "newbie" questions that always get asked.

We're over 20,000 users now and I may choke a bitch if I see another "What's the best lift for my truck?" thread.

The obvious complication would be the overlapping of Gen 1, Gen 2, Street Trucks, suspension, offroad, and other nicely-structured sections of the site. It's just that the redundancy is getting out of hand.

Maybe a filter that searches for phrases when creating a new thread and prompts the user to confirm that they've searched before creating a new thread.

Possible phrases that would trigger the "are you sure you searched?" alert on thread creation:
    . 3" lift
    . 6" lift
    . best lift
    . biggest tires
    . what octane
    . tallest lift
    . rice ;)

I don't want this place to turn into ttora but I'm starting to see where it comes from. Thoughts?

we did all have to learn at some point though. but a little thing that would recomend you search first when you try to start a new thread would help alot of people not get choked by Mr. Juevos:)

I just joined a forum where you had to read a newbie paragraph or two, and had a random word thrown in there that you had to remember. When you got your confirmation email, it took you to a page where you had to enter that email so it ensured that you read the whole thing. then it forced you to make your first post as an introduction in the new person section.

Adding to the list from the current main page:

    . exhaust
    . CAI
    . intake
    . horsepower
    . hp
    . cherry fluff

Bacon threads should get a free pass. ;)

    . BHLM
    . BLHM (for the dyslexics)
    . TRD
    . headlight or headlights
    . halo
    . projector

This is gonna make for a lot of rows in that database table.

I'm thinking about putting a 6" lift on my BMW. Will the tires rub?
