Joe, did you get the Marlin inner axle seals? They are so worth it. Much better than OEM inner axle seals.

Did you break something in the axle or just doing a front end service?

I need a service, no clue when it was done last, my inner wipers are weeping, so i think who ever did it last didn't soak the felts in wheel bearing grease so it probably wicked water in.....

I ordered a kit from Kurt from Cruise Outfitters, Ive watched enough videos on the rebuild, actually pretty easy, im going to go purchase some PVC for my birf to axle separator

Is there a reason you need to separate the birfs from the axles? You can repack the birfs with grease without separating the axles. It's probably better to separate them but not necessary. I've done it both ways with success

Did Kurt's kit come with new trunion bearings? The Trunions are usually the only thing that might need to be replaced in addition to the normal stuff like seals etc.

If you haven't done the front end service before, its not bad, just takes some time and is hella messy. Have lots of Nitrile gloves and shop towels on hand.

I want to clean them thoroughly, and inspect for wear is all

yes Kurts come with trunions, im curious to see what the PO put in the axle for parts, I really really really hope its not full of silicone gaskets lol

and Yah i got two boxes of gloves ready, 1 gallon of diesel and a 5 gallon bucket, a case of brakleen and some emery cloth, only thing I need to pick up now is a bearing race driver

Looking at two trucks side by side, one with 33's and one with 35's you see some slight clearance gains from the one on 35's for sure. All I'm saying is in real world situations those slight gains don't make much difference. At least not a big enough difference for all the work and headaches that come along with it.

You'd see MUCH better trail capability if you put a locker in your rear diff, than you will ever see from 35's.

This will be my first trip to Moab and I am totally stoked to finally make it out there. Not sure how many yet in the SoCal caravan are coming. Unfortunately Dean (MrGrimm) wont be able to make it, he wanted to but the date didn't work out.
I look forward to meeting a lot of you guys and seeing some of your amazing rigs in person. It will be nice to wheel with folks that enjoy the same types of trails that I do. Finding people to wheel with that have a transfer case in So Cal is not that easy to do at times.

Hells gate ain't all the crack it up to be. It's super smooth if you take the right line & have a good spotter!

I'm itching to have a crack at escalator.
