Thanks for the link. I have their Power Bleeder. I bet I can adapt it to fill the dif/t-case and trans. Thanks for the idea.

The amounts given in the owners manual are the same called out in the Chiltons manual. They say the capacities called out are "approximate" and to add as necessary to bring to appropriate level which they say to be at the bottom of the plug opening. The Toyota Factory Service Manual says to add as nessesary to get the level within 5mm (0 to 0.20 in.) of the bottom of the filler plug opening.

I just did all three, rear diff, front diff and transfer case. I purchased 6 quarts of Lucus synthetic 75-90 and needed them all. Did not use the whole sixth bottle but did need it to top off them all. Probably have about half a bottle left.
This was done on a 08' trd sport. Thanks for the tips everyone!

I've got around 71K miles (I know, should have been done long ago) and getting ready to change all the fluids. The truck's an '08 with LSD. I am a bit confused on what brand to use but this is what I'm thinking, let me know what you guys think..

    6 Quarts Mobil 1 75-90 (3qts rear/1.6qts front/1.1qts transfer case)
    4oz LSD additive

    Sound about right?

I have everything but the oil right now. Just looking for some input on if it was a good choice for the LSD.

You can give it a try with the synthetic in the rear but alot of the time even with the friction modifier the diff made noise. Do some research on it and decide for yourself, you may have to add more modifier.

When I refilled, I stopped when it started to run out the first time. I also did not add LDS stuff. (99 2.7 2WD)

Should I top it up with just the LDS stuff? What does that stuff do?

When it starts to run out its full, you need to add the modifier in as you fill, one quart oil, one tube modifier and so on. If you didnt add modifier and dont here any moise from the rearend you dont have a LSD. It would be making all kinds of noise. Heres what they are and what they do. http://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/28815/what-are-friction-modifiers

Sub'd. Coming up on 100k. Had the truck since almost 60k and it hasn't been done. I'll attempt the front, rear, and xfer case on my own. I'm gonna have my local shop flush my tranny and coolant. Thanks for all the good info guys!
