    I'm not really concerned if it'll look better with 37"s or 40"s. Form is always nice to have, but I'll take function over form. If 40"s have that much of an edge over 37"s to warrant the extra cost, weight, and chances of breaking something then I'll stick with the 40"s.

    Meh here's my opinion...


    A good friend of mine 01Tundra...ran 37's on two Ultimate Adventures, then decided he wanted 40's. He ran them less than a year before going back to 37's because he preferred them over the 37's. I have pretty much patterned my truck build after his, getting a lot of insight from him on certain subjects. Basically he is a guy who's opinion I trust.


    That being said, he tells me I will regret moving up to 40's and should stick with 37's. I want 40's just to see for myself, I sure hope I don't regret it since its an expensive move.

    I cant speak for everyone else.. but i can speak for myself and i know when i was building my 94 ext cab toy i kept putting bigger and bigger tires on it.. when i had to part it out and start over with my taco i was shooting for 44's but the most tires end at 42 so thats the tires going on it when i sas and as for my 94 that i still have after the taco is done it's getting 54's so point i was making is BIG FUCKING TARS

    If you have the money go 40's and if
    You don't like them sell them and get 37s. Still prob come out close to even if you do. The other way around you'd loose money though.

    Just a few little things. It's my DD
    Hey I am new to the SAS, but I am in the middle of a build. I got a 1989 Toyota, and have to rebuild the motor, and plan to sas it , I have got a stock Toyota axle. My plan is to use chevy springs on the rear, put the rear springs up front with a add a leaf, buy a high steer kit and shock hoops and shocks. I built a front hanger tonite(hope its right, built it off the Internet). I am trying to do it very cheap. So far how does my plan sound? Thanks for any input.

    personally I would advise buying front springs from allpro.. they guys that have done the rear to front thing well ive not been impressed buy the ones ive seen done personally I don't think they flex as well nore do they over come out right youll have to make adjustments.

    Yup, exactly that ^^^ He did a flutter stack on all of them. I have hardly any body roll, it's very controllable and still comfy and stable at highway speeds. The profenders came stock soooo fuckin stiff it was ridiculous.

    The spot in that video, before we tuned them, I was hitting that at about 15mph and it was shaking my insides out of my asshole. Hard to tell in the video, but it's pretty choppy ground lol obviously since Matt got some air, but I can comfortably hit that stuff at 45mph now. I definitely need some air bumps though.

    Is a flutter stack 1 size of each shim? Diameter wise. I noticed on my air bumps they would stack 3 or 4 of the same diameter shim to really stiffen it up. The sky is the limit when it comes to tuning coilovers and air bumps :cool:

    A flutter stack is where you have small shim(s) stacked inside two big shims. There's a pic of it in the link I posted. I'm still trying to learn all of this stuff, but yeah the profender's came stock with 3 of the same diameter shims stacked on top of each other, it made for a really stiff ride. It doesn't allow for those shims to flex well and adds a ton of dampening, which is why they do that with the air bumps.
