So I found a small paint chip on my 2014 tacoma I've only had for 3 weeks tonight. Its on the fuel door right above where you pull to open it. I'm guessing it's from a rock or something. Probably 1/3 the size of an eraser head. So what do I do now? Is this a job for touch up paint? If so, Any tips on applying?

Order a tube from the dealer.
    Keep it in your truck.
    Touch up as necessary.
I use a toothpick to make sure I get in the edge of the chip without overloading it with to much paint.

Above suggestions are the easiest but may not result in a fully hidden repair. I've used a method of touching up with base coat to add color to the chip following with clear coat (several coats) to fill. After cure, use a razor blade to scrape smooth, followed by 1500 grit, compound, polish, then wax. Search you tube on Kevin Tetz paint chip repair.

    Some people use Dupli-color.

I'd hit up the dealer. Being such a new truck, they may fix it for free. Good luck!

Yes, definitely hit up the dealer, I got my whole hood repainted on a new Saturn I purchased back in the late 90's, gratis, for some strange reason, the paint started to bubble in spots on the hood after a couple of weeks, weird...the hoods were metal, the plastic fenders, doors and side panels had no problems...

The factory repaint was spot on...

    Go to dealer first...

Why go to the dealer with a sob story, looking for free shit...why's everyone always want free shit?

Big difference between a rock chip and a factory paint defect. The Dealer is not going to repair a rock chip under warranty. A factory paint defect will be covered under your warranty. The proper way to repair is to base color coat, clear coat, let dry and sand with wet/dry sandpaper and then buff with compond then fine polish

I would not advise keeping it in your truck. Paint doesn't like climate changes. Store somewhere climate controlled (in the A/C of your home, for example) and it will last a lot longer. Sold paint for Lowes for two years now.

I never had an issue with it over the years but your point is well taken.
