I dont think so, 650 or 700lb kings or eibachs probably, well hopefully. I kinda like my current ride height right now.

I just put on 885s with no added weight and don't think they are too stiff at all. So much better over stock. According to evan they still ride fine with some weight up front but the 886s are designed to go with the heavy skids and bumpers and retain the lift intended. I wouldn't want to sacrifice lift with the 885s if I got skids and whatnot. If you do only go with 200ish up front and do 885s adding the toytec top plate spacers might be a good option. I have them on now with my lift. I need to add a small one on the driver side for the taco lean tho.

edit......I see the guy doesn't car about losing lift.

FWIW OME does advertise 885s to handle 0-200 lbs over stock. They also say that they provide 2" of lift, and we knew it is usually more. So their specs are kinda open to interpretation i guess. I know most guys with armor go with 886s, but i like the way the 885s ride.

Thanks for the replies. Are there any extra parts people recommend for the install?
I need to have all my parts and I'm gonna drive up to a friends for the install. My truck is 2005 and its seen some decent use so it could use all new bushings and similar small parts.
Here is my list so far:
-OME kit (2 coils, 2 dakars, 2 front shocks, 2 rear shocks, U bolts)
-bushings for the rear leafs and shackle
    -bushings for the rear shocks
-bushings and top plates for the front shocks
    -carrier bearing drop

Maybe UCA bushings too. Do I need to relocate the sway bar? what have you guys done with your sway bars?
Do I need the new exhuast bracket?

Haha thought you were a dc when I looked at your sig. From what I read I thought the 885's for dc and 884's for ac. But clearly that's not the case.

Might want some shims for the dakars. I went ahead and installed them with the lift. A good thing to have to fight vibes if you get any.

Bushings for the shocks come with the shocks, bushings for the dakars come installed from some vendors. DSM does not include the rear eye bushings. You can re-use the top plate if you want, having a new one won't hurt because you can assemble the coilover before you break down your suspension. Make sure the holes in the toplate for the bolts line up correctly with the shock eye. UCA bushings would probably be a PITA, if you think you might go with aftermarket UCAs down the road i wouldn't mess with them. Sway bar should be fine as is, a few guys have had issues with the sway bar contacting the coil so its good to have just in case. You shouldn't have to mess with the exaust, i think thats a first gen thing. One thing you left out is the trim packer, spacer for taco lean.

OME Nitrocharger shocks, 885x Springs with Toytec 3/4 inch spacer, LR UCA's, DAKAR Leaf Springs, Line-X'd Avid Offroad Step Bars, Pop-N-Lock Power Tailgate Lock, Truxedo TruXport Roll-Up Tonneau
I am looking at buying an OME kit with 886x's, nitrocharger 90000 shocks, the dakar rear leaf packs and LR UCA's. I also found some 285/70/17 Nitto Trail Grappler tires for sale that I am planning on mounting on my stock TRD Sport wheels with SpiderTrax Spacers. My question is I dont plan on putting any armor on or skids, the most I will do is some Step bars most likely and maybe a bull bar of some sort. How harsh is the ride going to be? Is it going to be super stiff? I will most likely be keeping it on road and rarely see the off-road I am mostly doing the lift for the aesthetic appeal. Should I maybe do 885's or will the 886's be ok? I am trying to get the kit with Avid Step Bars for $1000 dollars and I can get the tires for $425 that are lightly used, and I just purchased the spidertrax spacers for 160 for all four. So I am looking at having $1585 tied up in this lift with tires, suspension, diff drop kit, UCA's, wheel spacers, and Avid Offroad Step Bars. Is that considered a good deal for used parts?

I am not looking for a super stiff ride though, so if i didnt like the ride, how likely would it be that I could remove a leaf from the leak pack and find someone willing to trade up from 885x's to the 886x's? Or would I be better off buying a set of Toytec Coilovers with the 5100s for the front with the diff drop kit for 650 if I could get them for that? I would not receive the UCA's, step bars, or rear leaf packs if i settled for this option, and i would also instead buy the 265/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers and settle for pretty much just leveling the ride height with nicer tires that have some aggressive tread.

So what is a better option spend about $1,000 dollars and get the Toytec Coilovers, 5100s for the front with the diff drop kit, and 265/70/17 Trail grappler's (I could always upgrade the rear later if I wanted to add more lift plus the coilovers I could adjust their height after lifting the rear) or $1585 for tires, suspension, diff drop kit, UCA's, wheel spacers, and Avid Offroad Step Bars. Remember I would very much like to have an enjoyable ride in the vehicle and not get beaten all over the place

    Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Based on your description you want to get 885s not 886s.

Would it be worth to get the kit and just try to find someone to swap the coils out with or am i saving enough money that I could justify buying the 885x's outright? I'm just ignorant to how much used suspension parts should go for, apparently this kit was only installed for 3,000 miles.

If you're getting: OME kit with 886x's, nitrocharger 90000 shocks, the dakar rear leaf packs and LR UCA's, all for $1000 I'd say go for it. That's a pretty good deal. I sold my 884s with billies for like $200 to give you an idea of what you can get used springs/shocks for.

So it looks like I am going to be gettin the OME kit with 886x's, nitrocharger 90000 shocks, the dakar rear leaf packs, LR UCA's and Linex'd Avid Step Bars all for $1100, I made an offer of $1000 and he said $1100 is as low as he wants to go.

Still seems like a good deal. Wheelers sells the OME kit for $1140, LR UCAs are ~$400, and step bars are a couple hundred bucks. Either way, good luck with your purchase.

Just put in an order for a set of OME CS047 R springs. They say about 2.75" of lift. Will keep you all posted on what lift i do get out of them. They're going on a 2006 access cab tacoma w/ toytec coil overs up front.

First time I bought used shocks was my last. No way to tell if they are fubar. I'd suggest not doing it.

Take it somewhere else to get aligned then. Many people run that setup and have proper alignments.
