Don't recall the specific comment but they stood behind him and his right express his opinion.

 

Seemed to be an easy-going conversation. Which means this will get locked soon, too. Hm.

It's not that he was preaching Christianity or his thoughts against homosexuality. It's that he equated it to bestiality, which is a lie. It's that he said black folks were happy before Civil Rights. It's that the international company known as A&E has every right to suspend him based on that same freedom of speech foundation. It's not a First Amendment issue. It's not an anti-Christianity stance. It's business, plain and simple.

 

When you say gay is wrong, you are saying that gay people are wrong... It's offensive to be told you are bad/wrong.

Saying gay is okay means that there is nothing wrong with them... I don't see how it offends straight people. It is already implied that gay people are okay with straight people because straight people are the only ones who can make gay babies and I have yet to meet another homosexual who wasn't raised to be straight.

It's not working only one way, Gay people are just trying to get the rights to not be judged everywhere we go and the right to get married to who ever we love (17 states see it this way so far)

 

It's all about the money

 

His point is that if a gay person came out and said he didn't like straights nothing would happen, but if a straight person says that about gay people then you get fires etc

 

I saw this comment on yahoo earlier, seemed worthy of sharing:

Not when you have a contract with a company.

 

Freedom of speech only applies to the Government. He is not being prosecuted. Every college I have been to, and most jobs I have had, force you to sign morality clauses agianst stuff like this. A&E is well within their rights to remove him from the show.


Those who feel different, are typically the Christian right, who still falsely believe this is a nation of Christians for Christian.

 

Please, since you are so smart about contracts... tell me what was in his contract?

Did it say he can't speak his mind on his beliefs? Doubt it. I bet it said he can't talk bad about the company.
