Yea man, finally got the bumper about a month or so ago. Still got quite a bit to do to it before I get it mounted, plus I need a hawse fair lead with synthetic winch to even be able to use my winch with it, so its gonna be a little before its on.

I guarantee once your plastic bumper is off, you aren't going to be wanting to cruise around with a crush bar showing lol. You'll want that new one on the same day, trust me!

I keep thinking of using POR-15 to coat my bumper with then something cheap to top coat it with afterwards. Hear that stuff works great. I'm still undecided whether I want to powder coat it or not.

happy to hear about the bumper, saw you got a bit to do in your build thread. Any reason your going to synthetic, or is your bumper that heavy that your trying to shed a few pounds? Btw speaking of winches, how does the warn 8.0 work for you? I am thinking of getting that one, but considering getting a higher work rate like a 9.5 or a 10 000. Decisions...

Only going to be cruising bumper less for a day or so while mines getting painted, so hopefully it doesn't look to goofy.

I got a bunch of por15 with intention to paint my bumper, but I decided to get it professionally sprayed with some industrial paint, like the stuff they put on tractors. I figured if it chips I can touch it up, plus the base coat is going to be a good foundation to do touch ups on. Decided against powder coat for that reason, super hard to touch up. Hoping to use por15 to do the touch ups and then cover it with a cheaper paint.

I gotta go synthetic because the new bumper won't accomandate a roller fair lead. Just a hawse fair lead. Plus, shedding 30+ pounds of weight will definitely help my suspension. Not to mention synthetic is so much safer and easier to use.

I've used the Warn M8000 quite a few times now and it still hasn't let me down. I carry along a snatch block so as soon as I see a difficult stuck, I always use one. Actually last time Sloweburn got caught in a mudhole it really strained the winch for pulling power trying to get him out. It dragged the truck quite a bit but I could have always anchored it down. All in all, you can't go wrong with the M8000, especially for the price.

yea I've almost had it with Powder coating. especially on bumpers. My sliders however have held up really well! I dunno, I really like the finish but like you said its difficult to touch up and its not quite as durable as i'd like. POR15 might be the way to go for me.

That's great to know. I'd rather not spend the extra money if I don't have to. Going up to a bigger winch is a huge increase in price, so I would rather get the best bang for my buck. Thanks for the info

From everything that I have read online, Por15 is pretty sweet. I was planning on painting my bumper, but didn't think I would have done a good enough job do to all the small crevices and small spaces, where a spray gun would have been superior.

haha they both look good. I figured the extra head light protection may come in handy on the trail and if I hit a deer or something. Took me a while to make a decision between the three hoop and what you have.

Did the bumper install mock up yesterday

The lovely work area I had.

    Half way there.

Didn't get any pictures of the bumper on, because I wanted to get it to the paint shop before it closed. Im getting my lift installed tomorrow, so with the heavier coils I want the bumper to be installed asap, so waiting for summer to paint and install wasn't an option. Well it could have been, but common...lol

Current driving mode till bumper gets back

Yea kinda sucks rolling around like that, but its not worth re-installing the bumper only for a few days. Pick up the truck tomorrow, and hopefully will be getting the bumper tomorrow or Monday. Merry Christmas to me :p

btw saw your truck in your build with the 33's on. Really shows how much you trimmed in the fenders and flares. Looks awesome

[IMG] took a while to get the thing painted (3weeks) but it should be going on in a couple hours. Weather is bad so coffee/warming up breaks are in order.

Well I got my lift on, had the OME 886 coils with nitro charger sport shocks all the way around, and dakars in the back. I didn't really get any pictures, because we had a huge ice storm

Needless to say I didn't get any pictures of the truck lifted, but I did get pictures of it working :p

fortunately the tree that fell in the back didn't cause any damage to the house, but the wood was too wet, and brush like to burn in the house. Ended up doing an annual wood splitting run up to my uncles property. I help him split a couple bush cords of wood, and I bring a little bit back for my mom.

    loaded up at the farm

back at the house about to unload
    [IMG]

    Superbumps!!

In this pic you can see the u-bolt flip kit, and my extended brake lines

I got to get some pics of the whole truck, with the bumper and LED bar. May take a while since Im just starting another week at school.

Anyways another snow storm coming out my way ... so maybe some pics of some TITS will be in order :D
