Canada lets you put a short barrel on your gun but restricts the gun to home & the range, plus a 5-round mag limit you can jury-rig to get you to 10-rounds. I wouldn't trade statutes with them, that's for sure.

    I also own this... Rossi Ranch-Hand, 12" barrel, .44mag., about 28" OAL.

Another SBR, according to your ATF, now that I put the full-length stock on.

    * yes, Canadian Firearms Laws are retarded... With a capitol "R".

Shot my AR today for the first time in a long while, only got 2 rounds to operate the gun properly, all the other (18 or so rounds) didn't function properly.
I was shooting american eagle 50 grain (.223) (~4 rounds of that, didn't function right) and some white box ammo (5.56) (not winchester, not sure of the brand) and that ammo is when i got the rifle to function properly for 2 shots.

It's a rohg industries upper (18'' barrel, mid length gas system) on a colt lower.
what was happening most of the time was the bolt wasn't coming back enough to strip another round (it would eject fine), and on a few shots the bolt came back part way (just enough to eject) and would stop.

The gun was properly lubed, so i'm thinking it may be a magazine issue (i was using 30 round IMI defense mags) so next time i go shooting i'll take a colt 9 round mag and try that.

EDIT: heres a pic of how far back the bolt would stick

Always swap mags first. 7/10 times and AR malfunction will be a mag issue. Get a few Pmags to reduce your troubles.

X2 try pmags. I've also had really good luck with the Lancer L5 AWM mags.

My AR has only malfunctioned once in the 2000 rounds I've put through it. I bought a cheap tapco mag and it didn't cycle on the 2nd shot. Threw mag away and never had another problem.

UPDATE: So after Fedex fully dismissed my claim and pretty much said we lied about losing the stock, I contacted the company that sold me the stock, CheckOutdoors.com. They fought Fedex on the claim, and after more than a month of going nowhere, they refunded me the money today. Overall not happy, but I am surprised the vendor took my side of the story and still honored a refund. They totally didnt have to. Just wanted to pass this story along.

+10 for lancer L5 mags. They're noisy but you can keep them loaded due to the steel feed lips unlike Pmags since Pmags feed lips get soft. And even when they're need if you drop one, most of your rounds go everywhere.

Also don't ever buy the awesome looking Hera Arms mags, they feed like garbage because they designed some weird type of feeding system on it and tried to fix something that wasn't broken.

During their Black Friday and AR Days of Christmas sales, you could build that up even cheaper. They had complete uppers for $280, PTac Blackhawk LPKs for $30 and stock kits for $40. Add in a $50 lower and you're in business for $400.

Yeah, I wasn't really thinking about my AR when I grabbed the stuff I took to the range (I was mainly going to make sure the deer rifles are accurate), next trip (when I try my new shotgun) I'll grab a couple different mags.

I almost got some Pmags back in March, but I decided not to as I didn't have the cash

No, you're right, still not bad. I'm anxious to get mine out and see how it does. I've heard mixed reviews about PTAC stuff but generally good. Everything looks alright out of the box but I will say their LPK doesn't seem as 'refined' as my RRA LPK.
