I have the Terra Grapplers now. No complaints about them. Due for new tires, so just trying to compare to others. The Duratracs seem to do better in snow (from what I've read), which we get plenty of in New England.

I also had negative experience with the duratracs in the wet, but only when the tires are cold and leaving my house. Have to be very gentle with the throttle from a stop since my 08 off road has no LSD. had a similar experience with my BFG AT's but only when they got real hard after about 60k miles, they went 100k but were E rated. No snow here but next time I'll get something more aggressive and stronger like the Copper ST Maxx or the new Mickey Thompsom ATZp3

Dura-trac's are the business end of discussion :p.

Too bad they only come E-rated in the 285/75r16s.

Call me a follower but I'm pretty partial to the BFG A/T KO's, then again I'm a little biased because it's what I'm rolling on now. For the longest of time I was eyeballing the Discoverer STT's. I don't remember what turned me off from them. They are definitely one of the Better A/T tires out there though. I can tell just by looking at their pattern. Still, I really LOVE my BFG A/T's and at the price I got them for I will keep on getting them!

My Terra Grapplers (305s) have very low tread, maybe 2/32". They're still getting me around in the snow ok. I'm probably going to stick with them, 285s next time.

Why so wide a footprint? I stuck with my 265.

Nitto doesn't seem to make 33s in anything less wide than 285s, unless you get 18" or larger rims. My 305s have been good to me, and 285s should be even better in snow.

Ahh. I see. Yeah Sometimes, wider is not always better. There has a balance.

I ended up going with the Cooper S/T Maxx instead of new Terra Grapplers.
