Anyone driving around the Placerville area? I swear I must have seen about four or five highly mod'ed trucks (or at least lifted with big tires) this last week. One had a "TacomaBeast" sticker on it and was blue.. One or two white second gens, and a silver second gen.

I love spotting all of my fellow TW and just fellow Tacoma bros out on the streets. Especially more so when you are lifted and have the big tires and/ or are just modded. Tells me you and I both speak the same code of fun!

What's happening man?! It's been a long time! Did you hear the exhaust rattle and see a Red nose smack dab right in front of the all black grill? If you did that sure was me!!

There's a lifted white second gen I see at FLC and downtown sometimes. Has that ugly westin bull guard thing or whatever though.
There's also I believe a SAS second gen I believe somewhere around here. I see it briefly as we pass like once every couple months.

    I'm getting ~15mpg right now
    -stock gears
    -V6
    -auto tranny
-lots of weight in skids and bumpers
    -285/75/16's

How shitty is it going to be towing an enclosed uhaul trailer full of my bed, a dresser, clothes and my cheap gun safe? Should I expect zero power and 10mpg?

Ohh you're going to have fun lol. I pulled uhauls biggest enclosed and had it full (pulled about 4-5k) and mileage was about 9-1mpg and you definitely feel the loss of power. Don't get me wrong she will get the job done, but don't try to merge onto the freeway as if it's a race car lol.

Damnit lol. I already hate my gearing ratio just driving up long inclines. I'm going to try and power through to Arizona in one go. May have to pull into a parking lot and nap a little.

    Yes expect 10mpg lol

I get 10 mpg when I tow my TT. The thing that also hurts your weight is that the trailer is a box, which isn't very aerodynamic. Just like my Tt :(

I was getting 8-9mpg when towing the largest enclosed Uhaul trailer a few months ago.. It will get it done but you'll notice it's there for sure. I never felt unsafe wit it though.. just brake wwaaaaayy early and you'll be all good!

All these guys are whiners. I towed a 6x12 up hwy 50 to Tahoe last month with my *four banger.* :D

Yes, it did slurp some gas.... checking my records, letseee.... 13.7, 12.3 and 14.1 mpgs over the fillups that covered the trip.

On the climb - I wasn't passing anyone or setting any speed records, but I wasn't the slowest car on the road either. I'd just fall in behind a more cautious sedan, and stay there.

You just have to be aware you're towing. It's not like driving an unladen truck. Allow a little more time and space for everything, don't be in a hurry.

Towed a trailer before so I know the deal. I was just stock setup then and it wasn't as heavy. It looks like I'm not taking as much as I thought so I'm going to finangle stuff to all fit in my bed so I won't need a trailer.
