I've heard before that the actuator is prone to gettin water in it and shorting out.. Read forever ago about potentially being able to take it apart, drying it out/cleaning it, and then re-sealing and puttin it back in.. Don't ask for a thread, this was at least a year ago I read about it..

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Well it could be the eLocker actuator. Whenever you tried to engage 4WD, the indicator light would just continue to blink and nothing would happen?

Welcome to electronic 4WD. Problematic and unreliable. My 4WD has been frozen after sitting in-20 degrees overnight and so I had to drive for an hour in 4-low, on the freeway!!!

Drove trough a river, pretty deep water came in through the doors and soaked the carpeting. Then my eLocker didn't work any longer, until I took it apart and dried it out with a hairdryer.

Not like the rock solid old-school mechanical systems - progress huh.

Anyway, we need more details to diagnose this. The 4WD lights coming on while you were in 2WD seems odd to me.

Ho w deep exactly was this water, did it come up to your headlights (over the bumper)??

Its stuck in 2wd but I took apart the front actuator and it was clean. no water no rust nothing. I soldered the switch and the motor to the terminals and reinstalled it and still blinking and no codes are showing for it on the check engine light? Please help

Working on it. Never Ending :)
I have the same problems as you guys, my 4x4 light and Lo light blinking at me, tried everything to fix it myself with no solution, took it to toyota and they said the front actuator failed so a new one is needed and they could fix the problem, so fingers crossed.

OK, you can get "MacGyver" on it and grab a 12v car battery. Connect cables up to the front actuator, it should "click" and audibly engage, then reverse polarity (swap the positive and negative) and it should "click" and audibly disengage. That test will ensure the front actuator is working correctly.

Then we can test other system components. But is is often a stuck (or bad) actuator.

ok Well I put it up on 4 jack stands yesterday and the switch in 2wd. and let out the clutch back wheels are spinning. 4wd = only back wheels spinning and I get underneath the truck to see if even the drive front drive shaft is spinning. it wasn't. Same as the 4 LO. Could if be the eactuator on the transfer case?
