Lucky, I wish I had the cash to buy just one of the new consoles

 

I don't ever move my consoles much but yes it is dumb. It just makes things a mess to have a power brick. I don't really understand where the extra size in the console itself comes from? It's bigger yet doesn't have the power supply in there and they are running pretty much the same components.​

 

I would venture a guess and say there were no PS4's but I could be wrong. I have yet to see one since launch but have seen probably 50 Xbox One's sitting around. Every time I go to the store there are some on the shelf. Target had 6 today but no PS4's

Ps4 is cheaper but online play is no longer free. $49 per year. Controllers are approximately the same size just a different layout.

 

I am excited about my PS4 coming in tomorrow. Have been a Sony guy since I was a kid from PS1, then PS2. Got a PS3 a year after launch then 2-3 years later a 360 Slim. Big fan of Xbox Live versus PSN for what is now "past" gen, as well as the 360 controller. The more solid feel (probably via weight of batteries) and layout grew on me big time. PS3 had been collecting dust since then except when I get the itch to play any of the PS3 games I have, but now I am back to Playstation for current gen. Sony always wins me over on their exclusives versus Microsoft. This gen is going to be awesome. Shame there aren't too many games out currently for them, but then again I have always waited a year or so before getting the new console.

 

Quite honestly I'm playing LoTRO at the moment. There is only so much bf4, COD, and Forza you can play. I love the systems but with the shallow depth of games at the moment I'm back to my computer right now and just splitting my time between the 2 systems. Once Watchdog and Titanfall comes out it will be a different story.

 

GF hinting that she got me the PS4. Damn it, I told her you might as well give me the damn thing. She said I gotta wait till X-Max.

The agony of waiting is killing me .

I'll probably end up getting BF4 as a first game. I've alway played strictly COD, but I'm going to move on.

 

Yeah... I've got both BF4 and COD and they are good games but I've got to the point that after about an hour there is only so much killing you can do. Don't get me wrong... They are fun but in reality... It's the same shit over and over.

 

Console Sales Review

 

That should get the Xbox fanboys back in here.

It is surprising the Wii U sold that many. I actually bought one a few months ago to replace the old Wii and it is actually a really good console. The problem it faces is lack of almost "ANY" good titles. Unless you like Zelda (Which I do) or Mario 3D (which I do) then there is no compelling reason to buy one. I hope they can get developers to develop good 3rd party games for the system because if they don't I feel that will be the death nail of that otherwise great system.

 

I'm back but its actually not surprising.. After all the shit Microsoft pulled before release, I'm not surprised in the least that PS4 outsold it.. I still like my xbox although I'm really starting to miss the 360 when it comes to navigation of friends lists, messages, and game invites

 

I think those are the only games that keep nintendo around. They cater a little too young for me to buy one. Last zelda game i played was majora's mask, and the only mario game i ever played was mario kart. They just dont have good games to offer, maybe they should think about going cross platform with them and not carrrying a console along with.

 

You know... that was what put me off on the Xbox One also. I always loved the 360 other than I had to buy 3 of them because the RLOD but it was always a great system. I've liked the new navigation system and like the PS4 pausing the game and being able to do what you want then just jump right back into it. I really like the Xbox and think in time it will hold great things. I look forward to seeing what they do with both systems.

 

I agree with that. Also make a package that doesn't include the screen controller (which I personally love btw) but includes the "Pro Controller". Drop the price of the system and have Nintendo kiss ass and try to get some really good mature games out there. As it stands right now, like you said, I don't hold out much hope as long as they are still making games for kids.

That said, Ocarina of Time is my all time favorite game EVER!

the trends for nintendo's consoles just arent very good, im really surprised they keep trying to contend. ever since the gamecube their consoles have been dying. handheld i would say they are doing well with the 3ds but i dont really follow so im not quite sure.

 

Finally got my PS4, thanks to the GF . She went above and beyond to get one for X-Mas.

Awesome man! How are you liking it so far? Controller is awesome isn't it? I can't wait to see what they do with the touch pad.

My main complaint (same levied against the Xbox) is lack of launch titles. That will change soon but in reality I'm not playing either one of mine too much right now and have gone back to the PC until new games are released. I did download Halo Spartan Assault for the Xbox last night and it is pretty cool but not enough to keep me interested for long.

 

Per Gamespot 4.2 million PS4's have sold and 3.0 million Xbox One's (3:25 min mark in video).
