Can't decide what tires to get for my taco,
    Here's what I'm working with:
-Mountain town... Slower speeds, mostly roads, only highway is to head south to the valley
-road noise is not an issue, I've had a jeep with 100% mud tires and don't mind, kind of like the noise haha
-summer 4wheeling is high speed trailers and some basic rock crawling, maybe a little mud and water
-winter 4wheeling is snow, mud, and deep sand, need the grip and bigger voids so they don't fill up with stuff

I want a tire that's gonna last on pavement, seeing most of my driving is to and from school/errands

I'd like a "beefier" looking tire, something that gives a more aggressive look

I've been looking at bf Goodrich mud Terrain and good years dura trac

What's the reviews and opinions on those two for tires? And any other suggestions

I like my firestone destination AT tires....just wish they were an LT instead of a P rating.

Those hankooks are what i'm going to next. They work damn well

Firestone Destination MTs are awesome and under rated

Whatever is stock... 265/70/16? I think that's what will fit on 16s with no life and custom rims

Yours is an off road so it should have 265/75R16 from the factory....so you're sticking with stock size?

That sounds more right.... And yeah I am because the suspension I want is $4,000+ so that'll take a few years

What size you think will fit? I have 16x8, ATX 168 slots

265/70/16 comes stock but 265/75/16 of most tires will fit without any lift. Some of the more aggressive tires might have you removing your front flaps at that size.

I think you can do 275/75R16 with stock components

I don't have any mudflaps because with the ice and snow they become solid bricks of ice that rub my tires all the time

I can ask when I get them but I think 275 is way too big with my rims offset.... Either way I like the tires you have

Any opinions on the duratracs and or mud terrains

    I'd stick with 265/75R15 then

Had older duratracs that were awesome on a 4runner.

You have to ask yourself if mud terrains are really worth it. You also have to ask yourself how often you want to buy tires (30k, 40k, 50k, 60k miles) its really up to you. Shop by size on tirerack.com

I really don't mind spending the money every 30k if the duratracs are good tires! That's every 2 to 3 years so I can afford it

I like my cooper s/t, they are a hybrid mud and all terrain like a duratrac but they are supposed to last longer.

Look up others reviews jeeps can get 60k on a set and diesel 2500s around 40k, Im hoping to get around 60k from mine since it weighs about what a jeep does.

    before you laugh, just listen...
firestone destination MT's. they are the most overlooked tire on the market.
they are kinda pricey, but you get what you pay for.
just google em. theres a guy with an FJ who has put like 80k miles on them and they still have tons of life left.
i have them and i have around 30k miles on them and they have more than half the tread left.
aired down, they cling to any rock you can imagine.
the arent too loud at all, but once you get going faster than 70mph, they hum real loud.
they grip like no other in the mud. it is HARD to get these tires caked up. i dont know what it is about them, but the tread just slings any kind of clay or mud out. just google em and read some reviews. you wont be disappointed

my buddy's got a tacoma and his trail grapplers are almost dead with less than 35k miles on them. maybe he got a bad set, but all 4 are evenly worn and all 4 are evenly dead.
