"We have received a letter from K&N, ordering us not to sell K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit to California residents unless the K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit is in compliance with their new regulations. Unfortunately, the K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit you have selected does not meet their standards.

For this reason, we have canceled your order. Any charges to your card have been credited back. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Has this happened to anyone? Is this legal?

    crap bolted and welded together....
they have the right to cancel your order. Be happy they did that, and you don't get slapped next inspection you have. If your really interested in it, im sure their are other companies that will sell it to you, as always you will assume all liabilities.

Stuff and things that make it better.
I wouldn't buy anything from those guys anyway. Read the online reviews, horrible customer service.

It's just an inconveinence. I'll check eBay. I do see now what the reviews are saying about their customer service are true. This was a 3 item order that they just canceled the whole thing over. An email or phone call asking if I wanted the other two items would have been good customer service...but that is out of character for them from what I've read.

Thats a warm air intake drawing under hood temps which are warmer than ur STOCK setup, running an extremely poor filtering element.

Ur gaining nothing with it..... They did u a favor, really.

I'd stick with stock over K&N anyway.... Running an oiled filter that generally comes over oiled from the manufacturer in front of a maf sensor isn't the greatest.

If u want an intake regardless, look into the afe stage 2 si, the urd tcai, an older trd intake was th the silver aluminum lid, or u can try the volant and hope u dont get a check engine light.

They don't have to sell you anything and thank god I live in a country that doesn't force people to sell things to people if they don't want to. That's just silly.

Speaking of silly, if you think the laws in your horrible state are messed up (they are) then get off of your duff, get some buddies together and do something about it. After all, it's like minded individuals who have got that state into the black hole of government control that it's currently in. Sounds like you don't appreciate the government telling you how to live your day to day life and should make efforts to enact change. Best of luck (and you'll need it because the majority of residents in CA are idiots who NEED the government to tell them how to live their lives just to survive) to ya on your journeys.

I don't think the government (federal/state) should make anyone sell me anything and I especially don't think the government should make anyone not sell me something that is clearly available in 49 other states. Am I some sort of illegal smuggler now because I want to put a cold air intake on my truck?! As soon as I got this email from auto(not if you live in CA)anything.com, I spent the next few hours drawing allusions to Obamacare. If someone doesn't want health care, then so be it. Let them live and die as they wish without everyone else paying the billl for them. We do have the right to die right? I agree with you, the government has gotten WAAAY overpowered and is a result of people that NEED the government to tell them how to live. But when are we gonna draw the line? When are we (who ultimately run government) gonna finally say "You know what, that person just wasn't fit for survival?" Okay this may be a little much for such a small thing but together these types of things add up to take away our liberties. Whew...I spent:oldglory:

No u dont have the right to die.

Try it urself and u will be "saved", committed, stripped of ur weapons, labeled for 5yrs at the least, billed for services, and even tho u were taken against ur will, your insurance will try to get out of paying the bill if the facility is not in your network.

    Why is it a crime?

They can't tax dead people..... Thats why.

Like others have said, put that money to better use, something that will actually give you gains. Ie, headers... don't fall into the throttle body spacer trap either! Do some research in the "Performance" thread to make sure your money isn't being wasted. Just my 2 cents from one Army guy to another.

The state has been trying to close the "for offroad use only" loophole for years now. You can thank all the people rocking hid light kits in stock reflectors, and bro's chipping their diesels to roll coal for that. Autoanything is just covering their asses, because when California does close that loophole they're going to be coming after some of the big distributors for big bucks.

My point wasn't to suggest changing the laws to FORCE someone to sell you something it was to spur you to changing CA's stupid laws on emissions and many, many, MANY other things. It's getting to where no online vendors want to ship anything to CA for fear of violating some idiotic state law and getting sued. That state is so effed up it's not even funny. The even less funny thing is that they're all fleeing CA because of how bad their ideas have made their state and coming to CO and bringing the same BS that ruined their state here and thinking it somehow will be better this time 'round. That's the real problem. You want to break your state? Fine. Now live in it and don't think that coming here to bring your stupid ideas won't ruin my state.

URD has some very nice intakes on a slamming Black Friday sale right now.

If we can help you out with a "decent" intake system, please let us know.

This thread has gotten quite political. 'Merica.

They did truly do you a favor in disguise, now you can get your money back and pick another (probably better) intake.

Go with something from Gadget and URD. customer service is muy bueno.

Because communist liberalism has taken a foothold and basically killed a state, under the guise of robin hood, political correctness, and making sure no-ones feelings get hurt.

this is why i love living in good ol' columbus georgia. no emissions requirements, no emissions test.
hell, i cut the catalytic converter on my old tundra and took the muffler off. probably destroying the ozone, but that bitch sounds good.
