If that's the case and you haven't gotten and email I would call. I just sent them an email about the ballasts about three days ago and already have the new ones being shipped

Ya I spoke to someone who said that a new one won't fire at all
Update: so I finished my retrofit a week ago and I have ballast issues (which is fine), I have a bent light bulb (no biggie, getting a new one) but when my halos I installed haven't been ran for more than two hours while on the truck start to mess up and won't light up all the way is bs. The work I put into the retrofit is to much to rip an entire headlight apart plus the shroud which is jb weld to the projector and the projector has jb weld on the reflector bowl. I will attempt to get picture tomorrow but I will be contacting trs tomorrow for a refund or something....

I'm sorry to hear of the issues, which do happen from time to time. We can't just simply refund you for parts you've installed, but we can replace the parts that have failed. The failure rate of our current iteration of parts is among the best of the industry, so I can only assume either it's just bad coincidences or something else at fault here.

I understand that but for me to go in and replace the halo would have me reopen the headlight, rip off the shroud that is jb weld to the projector and also ripping off the projector that is steel stik and jb weld to the bowl. Its not worth ripping all that apart and ruining something else in the process that won't be warrantied

I haven't had any issues with my new ballasts so far. They are firing up with no problems. Was cold here this morning too, around 27 I think this morning.

After 3-4 days of testing the 3Five DSP's, the only issue with mine is during vehicle startup. If I have the headlight switched to auto, then 90% of the time, they ignite, but fail to stay on after the engine is started.

They have so far always ignited and remained on if I turn them on after the engine is started.

Flickering issue is completely gone. Been right at freezing here for about a week.

    That is not uncommon.
They need a fair amount of current and the starter pulling the battery voltage down can cause them to un-start.

Not sure if the Tacoma is wired as such, but use your parking brake and the headlights may not ignite until after the brake is released... a lot of vehicles work that way.
The lights will come on with the brake set if you just turn them on, but if you are running them in "semi-auto" mode where you did not shut them off when you last parked, they may remain dark.

I understand that about the battery voltage being pulled down. The headlights in the Tacoma are pretty dumb, actually, at least, for the '05. When they are in the ON position, they come on instantly as the ignition switch is moved to the II position, I believe, no matter where the parking brake is. They stay on after you remove the key, until you open the door.

I'm just disappointed that the SS ballasts did not have this issue at all. I generally leave my lights in the on position in the winter, because its usually dark when I leave and return from work. Will be annoying to have to always turn them off and on again.

I'm kind of surprised a change on the headlight side of the ballast design would change what I perceive is an input power supply issue. Seems like there needs to be more input side filtering to prevent the voltage from dropping so much, but I don't really know anything about the design of these ballasts.

I don't know if TRS sees this as an issue or not, I haven't heard back from them yet.

Colder weather, you are going to get a larger voltage drop.
It may have been borderline with the old ballasts.
