It's their "this is our truck that we take to demos and shows, you will be held liable for any kind of damage" truck.

to credit jimmy (or jimmie?) the service manager, he claims he went to bat for me about getting this with the manager about it after i explained that my having a 4wd was the lynchpin in an 8 person camping trip. if i didn't have a truck, i would have to call 7 other people, who have been planning this trip for 8 months and have already invested time, money, and vacation time to take. i'm still not impressed that he is the only person within that "service representative" group that said ANYTHING to me - outside of the service tech and the cashier. professionalism is a rare thing there.

regardless, the main service rep that i had been dealing with told me he would call me first thing this morning with an update, but no. i called right at 1000. he didn't even return my call until about 1030 - 1.5 hours before they were closing.

for some reason, the actuator went out (was stuck in 4wd - at which point i asked how if it was in 4wd with the locker on only the back tires spun.) and the gear oil was black as tar. supposedly there is a completely updated actuator that is replacing the ones that are currently on the trucks, but they didn't have one and they couldn't order one today for some reason, leaving my truck at the shop to be completed friday... they even told me that if i took the truck today and brought it back, it would no longer be covered under warranty.

oh, and this is all after they broke my lugs/lug nuts on the 20k service and then tried to charge me to replace them.

stellar service. while i definitely appreciate jimmy (or jimmie?), i will never go back to this place for any kind of repairs.
