Just a heads up, I live in NJ & have a 2007 Tacoma 4x4 DC SB Off Road Package. The truck is only 8 months old. I had to get a state inspection today because I bought the truck used with 8000 miles on it. The gas cap failed state inspection as it would not hold pressure. I took my truck to my local dealer today because I was going there anyway for another reason. I disappointedly told the service desk that the 8 month old truck failed state inspection today for a gas cap which wouldn't hold pressure. Suprisingly they told me they ordered a gas cap for me which will be in soon. So now I have to drive my 2007 Tacoma around with a failed inspection sticker. I would think that they would give me a cap from any other truck just so I don't drive around with a advertisement which states "FAILED". Common sense would have been to give me a cap just to remove that roaming advertisement sticker from my windsheild which states "FAILED".

Can't wait to see what they do when I try to get mine inspected!

I'll probably have to go to one of the more "reputable" private inspection stations to keep the '06 on the road in NJ. :p

mjp2 I'm going to have to respectfully ask that should you need to take your truck in for warranty service you let me know first, as I will gladly make the drive to wherever it is you are in the state just to watch the reaction of the service writer when he sees your rig. That would be a blast to see. :)

I'm planning on bringing it back to the dealership for one of my 3-free-per-year oil changes for that very reason!
