Just got my new stereo installed. Wondering it any of you guys have this model that know how to stream video from you phone. I purchased a cable with my order but it is not the right one. I have an iPhone 5 and everything else is working great.
Need to install a new USB port in the dash somewhere and probably do a aux 3.5 at the same time. Who knows where a good place to get a good looking plug? I will get some pictures of the new HU later.

Crutchfield helped me out. Need to order the apple lightning to VGA along with the VGA cable I had.

Anyone help me out? I got the VGA to apple lightning adapter and now my HU is reading "incompatible USB". What am I doing wrong here? I can't get any apps or video to send to HU. Some one out there has to have the 2500 or even this new model. Everything about the HU is sweet but will be disapointed for sure if the dang iphone 5 doesn't work for this application.

Did you update the firmware? Don't know if that will help or not.

I haven't done any updates. I will look into it. If someone wants to point me in the direction of how I do it that would be great. I am getting tired of searching the web for ideas right this min.

Do you happen to have the installation manual? If not, go here. Then flip to page 5 where it talks about connecting an iPod. You'll want to connect your iPhone 5 like the diagram on the far right titled, "When connecting with optional CD-IV203 cable." I know you said you already have some cables and adapters, but just to clarify, you'll need this and this.

And there aren't any firmware updates for your unit yet. So don't worry about doing that.

I just opened the box to my Pioneer 3500 and inside was a yellow piece of paper telling you to do the latest firmware update for the apps to work with iPhone 5.

Got it figured out. I had the connection setting set to "iPhone USB connection" needed to be set to "iPhone Bluetooth connection". We are streaming video and have apps now. SWEEEEEEET!

Very cool. It mirrors iphone screen. Here are a couple pics.

That's neat. I just can't justify the extra ~ $150 cost of all the cables!

Can you use touch the Pioneer's screen and have it control the iPhone? Like, could you browse Netflix by only touching the Pioneer?

Nope.....you can only use the pioneer HU touch screen for compatible apps. There is a few of them I have but haven't got to play with it much yet. I am liking it a lot though!

$150 to entertain the kids on a trip is very well worth the extra cost for myself......plus I won't lie it is very cool. I am finding all sorts of cool ways to use it.

These are the two cable/adapters I had to get.

    Pioneer CD-IV203
iPhone® 5 interface cable for select Pioneer A/V receivers (required for AppRadio Mode)

    Apple® Lightning™ to VGA Adapter
Play video from your newer Apple device on VGA-compatible monitors and displays

I am having similar problems with this unit, but we do have all the required cables. We were unable to stream video to the unit. More frustrating is the lack of Pandora integration. If I go into "Pandora" it will launch the Appradio pandora app and begin playing Pandora. But the data transfer is apparently so slow that it will not populate the artists into the unit screen.....or just a few and veeeery slowly. This makes it impossible to select artists/channels. And also once you are in Pandora mode you can't control the Pandora app on the iPhone 5. Ugh!

We couldn't get the Appradio apps to function either. There are very few and are 3rd party. But the Waze app would be useful, but again we couldn't get that to run.

How do you change it from iPhone usb connection to iPhone Bluetooth ? When I try to change that setting it just gives me some instructions on turning off bluetooth and turning off the radio before I change the setting
But even after following that it still does not give me the option to make the changes. ......I also have a parking break bypass installed so not sure if this is causing a problem. Does the parking break need to be up or down for this to work?

I was stuck in same spot. You change it from that screen. Touch where it says "iPhone USB".
Doesn't seem like a place where you change the setting but you are there. Follow instructions and change it to "iPhone Bluetooth"
