I put mine together yesterday. Install was easy with their anderson lower. The trigger in the blackhawk kit has an extremely heavy pull.

I also use vise grips with electric tape for the roll pins. For the detent pins I use a razor blade to hold the pin in place while I press the pivot pin in. Its pretty easy that way.

I thought it felt a bit heavy, but I haven't shot an AR in aabout 2 years so I forgot what the trigger was like. I may polish the mating surfaces to smooth it out a bit. Are lighter aftermarket springs available?

Lighter springs are available but they can reduce the force in which the hammer strikes the firing pin. First thing to do is to stone the contact surfaces on the hammer and trigger, being careful not to alter their geometry and contact angles. A fine stone and CLP will handle most crap triggers.

Is there a major difference in buffer tubes and buffers? Or will any off the shelf brand do?

Any mil spec buffer tube will work if you buy a buttstock kit it comes with the tube, I have a vltor on my blaster. But the PWS enhanced buffer tube is worth the money, has Ambi QD swivel points and the bottom lip is extended to reduce carrier tilt. The billet retails for $200 though. Have it on my SPR lower.

the only differences will be Mil-spec or commercial spec (most are mil-spec) and heavy (marked with a H) (what most carbines run) and rifle (what rifles and I believe, don't quote me on this, mid length uppers run)

Then there's the rifle length tube and spring (fixed stock), and the carbine (adjustable stock), these are not interchangeable.

I ordered the PSA Pmag/rifle case earlier, excited for it to come.

H h1 h2 and h3 are the buffers (weights) not the tubes haha. Damage industries makes very good buffers, tubes, and springs.

If anyone has ever wondered if the Mako GL-Shock stock actually works, it does! My RRA 458 SC had the typical A2 meat grinder butt plate stock on it. I would go home after a shooting session with a bruised and very tenderized shoulder. The video link shows a slow motion video of the stock in action. The rifle comes backwards before my shoulder does and you can see the distance between the stock and the receiver shorten up momentarily. It does work and lessens the recoil of the 458 nicely.

I have heard where some have taken the Tapco AK stock, pinned the lever open and inserted a 3/4 length AR15 standard recoil spring in between the two pieces. Gives bump action from the shoulder, you find out why AK's started having palm swells on the handguards.

The Mako spring is pretty stout, it takes some serious recoil to compress it.

I hate quad rails but that's real nice. Just a personal opinion on the quad rail nothing against it otherwise.
