that would make it a NFA machine gun...that is why the akins accelerator was denied approval by the BATFE the original design used a spring to assist it back to the forward position. My brothers lawyer represented Akins and he ended up selling off his patent to Fostech who makes the bumpski. and from what ive read slidefire is infringing on their patent.

I hear ya. I was experimenting with my own 10/22 stock like that when the "new" ruling" came down. I ceased and took it all apart and even got rid of the stock. It was too bad for Akins that the BATF originally approved his design until they saw the videos of just how controllable it was. Then they went back and twisted the words around to include his design as a FA device. Yet they still allow the AK 47 tripod spring set up I guess because it is huge and not very portable.

The monithic designe is super awesome, MEGA makes a sick one right now but honestly I don't think it's worth the money, say you wanna change the rail, you're screwed and need a whole new upper.
As for colt, I've held one colt in my entire life and I know they're literally the milspec standard for most AR's and I was like wow NO WAY and decided to build from scratch. Whereas a colt will rattle as loud as a diamondback rattlesnake, my seekins forged Lower and RA billet upper do not rattle at all. It's also hella accurate with a dd CHF LW Pencil profile barrel and black forge NiPhos BCG. Totally worth $2700 to build.

My SPR receivers, CMT tac billet upper and noveske chainsaw lower, they stick together like glue. It even requires some force to pull the upper from the lower. At this point, I'm never buying a factory built rifle as easy as it is to build yourself. Staking the castle nut? F that man, just torque it on. Mine hasn't come loose in over 1500 rounds. And I have a multitasker AR multitool with a castle but wrench if it does, just in case the zombies come.

DSCF1010_5d69e64975d92872895f8d157888ea6998b6a297.jpgI finally got done with my 2nd build. It wound up being one of those cases where you ordered something, thought you cancelled it and the next thing you know, you've got an shipping confirmation email. I ordered an upper from DSArms last december. I emailed them to cancel the order. Well, I guess they didnt get it. It was during the period I refer to as "the craze". I got the upper in the mail. I tried to sell it, but had no luck. So I said why not just build it on out. So I got a Spikes Tactical lower, PSA/Magpul MOE lower build kit, PSA BCG and a Vortex Strikefire. I really wanted the Mapgul STR stock but the kit with it was out of stock. I plan on getting one along with a Fortis 7in quadrail. I'll post as pic ASAP. Its an A2 platform. I bought a MBUS rear site for back-up and co-witness.

Seems like next December I will look into building another. There are some crazy prices around the web on AR parts around Christmas.

Yeah, full auto was fun when I was in the military and didn't have to pay for the ammo.

Even rimfire ammo is 10-15 cents a shot now, if you can find it.

So true, I loved full auto with tracers at dusk when someone else footed the bill

Now a days you would need a 2nd mortgage to afford that kind of ammo to just fire off

while out wheeling today had a chance to get a few rounds through it.. all i had was this energy drink. lol. set it up at about 30 yards. the Eotech definitely needs to be sighted in. the magpul flip-ups are actually dead on. was impressed at how accurate it was right out of the box. smooth. no recoil. fun to shoot. had ONE jam and the charging handle was stuck as well.. tried "mortaring" and free'd it up. was using reloads so the casing might have been a tad swollen. anyways.. loved it. going out again in the next couple days to sight it all in.

My buddy has the same smith and Wesson rifle as you. Is your upper and lower tight or really loose? His rattles like no other.

I do enjoy spraying down range (rifle range that is) at full auto and 3 burst without seeing dollar signs in my head.:D To pay for my own habit out in town here in Hawaii, I could pay up to 85 cents/a dollar per round!
