Tacoma interior temperature always comfortable...

Just curious if anyone else has noticed the same with their trucks...

It seems in the summer, I can leave my truck in the sun for hours on end and the cab does not heat up. It can be 100 degrees for hours, I climb in windows still up, start my truck and never suffocate or even need to turn on a/c. Crack the window and I'm good for my 25 minute commute to work.

Likewise in the winter, it can be in the 20's all night, yet the cab remains comfortable. I get in, start her up and make the drive into work without even turning on the heat. I think I've used heat or a/c maybe twice in the years I've owned it.

My 06 gets hot as he'll in the summer, and cold in winter... It never stays cool or comfortable without heat or AC..

 

It's certainly cold in the winter, first thing in the morning. But, with the white color and tinted windows, it doesn't get too hot in the summer.

 

Don't know where you live, 302, but here in central Texas, that's not necessarily the case. Doesn't get extremely cold in the morning, but it's been below freezing on several occasions already this winter and my truck is cold. I've only owned my truck for 4 months, so I missed the hottest part of the year. I have a feeling when we get to the middle of next summer and it's triple digits outside, I'll probably question my choice of a BLACK truck. Pretty sure it will be hot.

 

302 is Delaware's only area code, so I'm in Delaware. Always face parking south which I'm sure helps in the winter. I swear mid summer I can get in at noon, leave the windows up and just sit in there for hours without suffocating (not actually done it). Maybe it's the silver color or maybe it's my vent settings. Never had a vehicle that kept such a perfect temp inside.

Well, when it frosts over your windshield, you don't find frost on your steering wheel do you? Clearly a difference between inside and out.

You must keep it in a garage and parked in the shade.

 

Frost can't penetrate the windshield to fall on it.

Try 140*F - 160*F inside my truck in summertime...not comfortable at all.

 

As a former Delawarean, I have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry.

 

No garage no shade. Driveway faces due south. Thought maybe this was a tacoma thing but maybe it's just me or my location. None of my other vehicles have been like this before. Always freeze in winter and suffocate in summer with other cars.

 

We don't consider 20 degrees comfortable down here.
