Heh, no problem. Sometimes it just takes another set of eyes.

To be honest, I don't even think my radio is transmitting. It seems like it is, according to the SWR meter when I tuned the antenna, but either I'm not getting out very far, or I'm transmitting a dead signal since I haven't been able to get any responses when requesting a radio check.

Pity I don't know anyone close with a CB so I could test it for sure. Guess I'll have to wait until Citrus. If it works it works. If not, then I should at least be able to receive.

 

It's okay mine decided to not turn on anymore after using it today just fine

 

If you cant figure it out before citrus, I can take a look at citrus as according to John I will have my wiring tools with me to deal with his radio.

 

I'm gonna gonna redo some connections once I get a meter so let's see. Good to know

That's exactly what I'm experiencing. It's weird. I've never had problems getting a response before, so I've been thinking that it's just not transmitting, or rather it's transmitting a dead signal. I guess it could be ppl just aren't bothering to respond, but I just can't see that as likely.

 

true, with this CB mod, I had everything planned out...where the CB was gonna go, how I was gonna route the cables and where the power was going to plug in at and where the antenna was gonna go, until I saw what drill bits the shop had, then I was kinda like "wtf" and decided to just put it there, plus ive got a long time before my next mods I can do, gonna go for Icon ET-coilovers w/ TC UCAs and AP leaf springs to replace my factory ones and ya Ill be honest, some mods Ive done have been rushed, like my flares and bumper repainting..thats about it though, everything else Ive had a plan and knew what I needed to do

and I personally dont like asking a billion questions about things either, after like 2 or 3 I think im just starting to annoy people I guess

You could build your truck from searching all the threads on here. Without ever asking a question. Not that we won't welcome questions and try to help but the amount of knowledge on this forum is amazing.

 

thats what I normally do, but with my lack of knowledge of wrenching, I think im kinda like ''huh?" whenver im reading threads about certain mods. I can say though, I have learned so much about my truck that I never even knew just reading this forum. Just being on here, ive gone from not knowing a damn thing about wrenching, to knowing at least the basics of it all. With my lift when I first put it on, it took me nearly 8 freakin hours to install the lift because of not knowing anything about it, but I can say now I can most likely go back and put everything back on quicker than that, since I know what I need to take off to get to the coilovers and such

 

I was thinking of having wife speak on the mic to see if they respond to her. I will keep trying, if I keep going it will annoy someone and they will answer me! That's if the damn radio is working properly, freakin thing is old, had this cb for many years.

LOL, again, my exact situation. The radio currently in my truck was manufactured in 1990. It's close to 25 years old. And it spent the last 13 years or so in a crate in the utility room. I'd say it's lucky it turns on and receives.
