I think you are confusing the DMZ kit with the Defined Engineering kit... like 75% of the 2nd gens in the LT thread are running the DMZ kit. On a short bed it's supposed to pull 16" and on a long bed it can pull 17" because they run a longer shackle. Tim had rubbing issues with the shortbeds so he uses a shorter shackle for them.

The defined engineering kit is the one that pulls 14" if you are lucky. It's just a leaf pack that uses the factory hangers. The DMZ kit is a 62" leaf lack that has completely new hangers.

 

The Logan kit pulls some crazy numbers. It's possible to get 20" out of the AP Baja leaves with 12" shackles, but I have mine strapped at 18" so the leaves don't splay out. I rarely use the last 4" of bump travel. To be honest, I have never fully bottomed out the rear. It's just not possible with the weight of my truck.



I can also adjust the rear ride height by adjusting the shackle pivot point. I like it a little stinkbug...

Hello peoples.

 

It basically came down to 4 options for rear LT on a 2nd gen. The Giant kit (everyone says it is crap and doesn't like it, even mjp2 is planning on getting rid of his since it has been such a pain), the DMZ kit that I chose, the 50T leaf pack like you have or an Alcan custom leaf pack. I decided the last two were more custom work than I am capable of right now, so I will just run the DMZ kit for now, until I can afford to have it 4 linked a few years down the road or so.

 

I did and I like them a lot!

I bet you will be so happy with the performance of the DMZ kit that you never get around to linking it. I think it will be very well matched to a 4wd LT kit, and linking isn't really justified unless you run a 2wd race kit. Aren't you doing the DMZ kit this weekend?
