Bering sea gold

anyone else watching this. I grew up in Nome and moved away in 1990. I go back every now and then. I used to mine with a 2.5" suction keen dredge back in the day on the beach and the old tailing piles where land locked dredges throught out the nome area. I used to watch these guys on the beach while growing up but as you can see how they are doing it now. I can't remember exactly when they started mining like what they are showing on discovery. i dig it, brings back alot of good memories.

 

Yeah I watch it, have to DVR it so I skip some of the drama. Other than that is pretty good. I watch the gold rush one as well.

 

I watch both shows as well, but the drama is annoying.

Yeah I wish they would show more of the actual dredging and the gold they do find. Steve, needs to completely go away before he hurt some one.

Yep. Don't really care about their bs issues.

 

Yep, its kinda cool to watch them pull out $100K in gold with a backhoe. The big boys don't really pan, they have machines that do that for them. It beats the hell out of watching teen mom and all the other reality crap that is on.

 

Steve is a complete idiot. I wonder where he gets the money to continue because he rarely finds much gold.
And Todd Hoffman, where does his money come from because I don't think he has ever made much money.

 

I can't stand the Hoffmans, I am hoping they fail miserably down there. They have a lot of family money from Oregon somewhere, it almost seems like something to do in their spare time for them.

Zeke turned into a douche bag this season as well, maybe its scripted.

 

lol Cool. I agree. I just remember trying to watch a few episodes of "Gold Rush" and nothing ever happened in an episode. They found barely anything, yet it became a huge hit for Discovery. I'll try out BSG, though.

 

Yeah Gold Rush is kinda boring, not sure how any of them keep mining.

 

Maybe they'll hit it big with diamonds...

I like to watch both shows but the drama is what ruins it. If they cut out the drama and just focused on the gold it would have more viewers. Plus dredging is a lot fun it sucks getting one in somewhere, but it sucks up alot of dirt.
