I recently purchased my pickup back in March and one of the first things I began looking at were nerf bars. I first was thinking about purchasing an OEM set of bars, but after research, I decided I actually wanted a set of sliders, since they sat closer to the truck. My height made it where I didn’t really need a set of nerf bars, but at the same time, they could be helpful with others.

After the decision, I started sending private messages out to vendors on Tacomaworld asking various questions for bolt on sliders. Of the vendors that I messaged, only one company responded, being BeefedTaco. In the beginning, Beefed Taco was extremely nice and answered all of my questions. I decided to give him my business. I purchased a set of sliders on May 27 and was told that it would be approximately 6-8 weeks.

Well, fast track to today and I have yet to receive the bars. I waited till 7/27 to send Brian an email asking about a status. The reason for this is that I travel back and forth for work and wanted to make sure that the product would be received where I was currently at. I never received a response. I then followed up again on 8/3 and received a response on 8/6 asking for more time. Lucky enough, about a week later, I had some extra cash and told BeefedTaco I could pay for the shipping. I received an invoice the same day and I paid for the shipping cost two days later. A few weeks went by and again, no response to a shipping date. I sent another email on 9/8 asking for an update and no response. I then followed up on 9/10 and said that I had not received a response and if this was the case, I would be filing a claim with my credit card company. BeefedTaco replied and said that he had some issues which I can understand and asked for more time. I specifically asked how much more time and he said two more weeks. Well, three weeks went by and again, no response. I then decided to file a dispute with my credit card company as I had yet to receive any response. I still have not heard anything from Beefedtaco.

What has frustrated me this entire time is how long this process has taken when I was originally told up to 8 weeks. Never once has BeefedTaco communicated to me his longer lead time, I always had to be the first to ask the questions. I did not want to have to file a claim for the purchase as I wanted to do business with him, but when someone has all of my money for that long of a time and I have nothing to show for it, I have an uneasy feeling. Street Tacos might sell a great product that everyone can swear by, but I was not willing to wait any longer when I was told a different story and never received a follow up.

It is what it is. Unfortunate that it happened especially with a vendor on a forum, but nothing you can do. I just couldn't wait any longer after I was told a few times for me to give him a little but longer. Lessons learned I guess.

Quick update. Beefed Taco had gotten with me and is working to make things right. He was able to finish my set and now waiting for delivery confirmation. Will keep everyone posted.

I had a positive experience with Beefed Taco...as with any vendor on TW most are small one man shops and can get backlogged with work. Iexpect that he'll make it right and you'll be extremely impressed with thequality of his workmanship. Still no excuse for lack of communication and missed deadlines through...

You guys are right about the wait being worth it. I did a dry install this evening on the passenger side and they look great. Welds are super clean and look excellent. Going to prep them this weekend and see what else happens. Definitely worth the wait!

Finally had some time to get the sliders installed. The bars are simple to understand what you need to install them, but it was a pain to drill the frame. Overall, I am very happy

Looks great man. Last time I heard from Brian was oct 26th saying he needs 1-2 weeks max for my sliders... I have sent him 2 emails since then asking nicely how's the progress. No response yet :(
Product might be great, but lack of communication and deadlines are unacceptable.

I'm actually thinking about pulling the trigger on the Slee sliders that I wanted in the first place, then selling these locally when they finally get here. I don't want anything on my truck that I cant recommend, because people always ask about all the things I have done to my taco.
Might be hard since mine are custom made slider/steps. I'll probably just keep them.

I waited about 10 weeks for a carrier drop when originally quoted 2 weeks. I was less then impressed, product quality is very good but business practice blows (communication mostly). I wouldn't recommend if you have other options for the product you need/want.

Holy shiiii... In comparison I shouldn't be complaining

I ordered my carrier drop on 11/2. A shipping label was created on the 18th of this month but there has been no activity since.

Again, wow. That's exactly what I ordered and I'm on week 8.

I wouldn't be as annoyed as I am had there been some sort of communication that indicated honest lead times... But there was none. To be fair I understand it's a small business, there is plenty of work to be done, and this is the holiday season but this lead time/communication issue is becoming unacceptable.

Just an update, I got an email from Brian today. He said he was on a short vacation and was working hard to get more orders finished. My sliders were already built before he went on vacation, but I ordered mine fully plated, and that takes a bit longer. Mine are also a bit different since there is no kick out and nearly flat.
I'm still rooting for him tho. He makes nice sliders from what I have seen here. I hope that he can get caught up to avoid the long lead times and work to improve communication with customers waiting on orders.

Edit: sent an email and got one back today (1/11) saying it would go out next week. We will see.
