    So far just wish the tailgate was stronger so I can load the box without worrying about trashing the gate. 4x4 selector should also be backlit like the rest of the controls.

    I have a 12 v6 off road dc. Love that it fits in my garage although I wished it had more interior room. Mpg isn't great but it's a truck. Thinking about moving up to the new Tundra because of the interior space.

    I've had my 2010 AC 2.7L 2wd 5-speed since March 2011, and have put 40k km's on her since.

    If i have any regrets, it's that i didn't buy a model with the 6 cylinder motor.

    I don't tow with it - but i do stuff her up to the gills inside and out with outdoor gear and a smaller ATV in the bed. She struggles up long steep grade inclines loaded up this heavily. Needless to say the 'Truckers lane' is where i belong when loaded up.

    Beyond this - maybe a 4 door version would have been more versatile, but i would have lost a foot off the cargo bed - and that would have been an unacceptable trade-off.

    This truck is on the 10 year usage plan - meaning that i will get to correct it's deficiencies with a replacement, once this one has served me for 10 years, hopefully economically, and well.

    I have driven a 1996 bronco and a 2006 4runner and I just purchased a 2013 DCSB TRD 4x4 and still have and drive the bronco 280Kand 4runner.125K original engines and drivetrain It's not that I'm dissatisfied with the purchase it's just minor nuisance such as simply opening the hood no struts or springs to hold up the hood instead you get a steel rod to prop up the hood, oh and no light to help you see things at night. And I know this is like comparing apple and oranges but tailgate does not lock vs the two other vehicles and again no strut or counter weight assist to keep me from abruptly dropping it or a simple rear window defogger. Other thing is the power rear window vs the unlock and slide, the MPG is about 17 on all three vehicles the older ones being V8 while the tacoma is a V6 so while these are all minor issues and differences it personally feels as if this is a cheaper sub class now. I do have to say the Bluetooth phone link and the rear camera view are nice technology upgrades on the Tacoma from my other older vehicles. So overall the tech upgrades I can feel and touch are not much of a difference overall and I will write back in 7 to 10 years as to durability.

    10 miles to the gallon and a $100.00 a week or more gas bill. I have had many and all V8's. This was my first small truck and the weekly gas bill is nice. I did love my 350, because you sat up higher then most vehicles , so you saw them coming and going. You could see over bridges and barriers. Most people stayed away from you.

    I have buyer remorse. I need a truck about 2-3 times a year for my increasingly rare dirt bike and mtn bike camp trips. I thought I could deal with tent camping on those trips, but I've concluded that I am done with the tent thing. I thought the tacoma could do it all, but there is just too little space. I do grant that it is kinda fun to drive tho...in a friendly/clumsy golden retriever kind of way.

    Also, I think you are either a truck person or not. I guess i never have been and never will be that passionate for pickups. Fortunately for me, I only have 5,600 mi on my 2010 so I should be able to get out of this truck well. In the meantime, it's not costing me anything.

    I am looking to 2015...I hear the m-benz sprinter will offer an awd option (with lo range). That will be the ultimate for my needs. Keep the bikes inside, take everything, and sleep inside on expeditions.

    The new v8s are pretty efficient , especially the tundra .
    My friends 2013 dbl can 5.7 is getting 16-17mpg avg , I'm getting about 16-18 mpg .

    Realy not that much diffrernt . If the taco was offered in a v8 I would have considered it .

    No buyers regrets here, just some getting used to. I came from an extended cab f150 to my reg cab 4x4 Tacoma. The Tacoma rides nothing like the full size trucks, its much more bouncy and "jeep-like". Personally I've been having a blast in it but it has taken some getting used to. Now that I've lifted it and put MT's on it is a little vibey but that's to be expected. I can haul all my stuff around, drive anywhere, and still get 20mpg. All and all I've found that I like my truck more and more every day, that is certainly something I couldn't say about my ford. They definitely grow on you, as long as mine runs as long as other members I will be ecstatic!

    I'll give you some honest feedback on my purchase...

    1. The shifting is a bit clunky and I feel like a no0b driver trying to shift smoothly especially with passengers riding along expecting a smooth new car ride.
    2. This truck is underpowered and still gets bad gas mpg. Full size pickups are getting similar mpgs?!
    3. Interior controls/design could have been better (lighted 4wd knob, switch locations, etc)
    4. Price, this truck is very expensive compared to the Nissan...but this is a Toyota and should outlast the Nissan.
    5. Closely related to #1 the gearing is awful.
    6. No heated seats? What year is it? $30k+ for a truck and no heated seats?
    7. Turn indicators/colored side mirrors should be standard across all models not just the sports. That's just safer.

    with that said... I still love this truck and am happy I made the recent purchase. I'm looking forward to all the fun adventures I'm going to have in it. I already went up to Keystone yesterday and had no issues with the snowy road conditions on the way there.

    Also, 31 Dec is probably the best day of the year for haggling with stealerships.. goodluck with whatever you choose!

    Had mine for just about two months and a few thousand miles. I've hauled 700 lbs of motorcycles in the back on a long trip and the only thing I'm slightly unhappy with the power but in my opinion that can be fixed by the TRD Supercharger so I'm starting to save up for that.

    However when I looked at the numbers (see chart below) when I researched trucks before my purchase I found the power wasn't really all that lacking comparatively unless I wanted to go to a big 5 liter+ v8 which pushed trucks well out of my price range.

    Note: My requirements for trucks were 4x4, the closest thing to an access cab setup, and 6' or larger box.

    Truck PWR Chart
    4105 lbs - Taco 6spd/MT 4x4 ACab -> 236hp = 0.057 hp/lb (16mpg/19/17) city/hwy/combined
    4140 - Taco 5spd/AT 4x4 ACab -> 236hp = 0.057 hp/lb (16/21/18)
    4,327 - Nissan Frontier 4x4 MT King Cab SV V6 -> 261hp = 0.060 hp/lb (16/21/18)
    4,311 - Nissan Frontier 4x4 AT King Cab SV V6 -> 261hp = 0.061 hp/lb (15/21/17)
    5333 - F150 V6 Crew Cab v6 4x4 -> 302hp = 0.057 hp/lb (16/21/18)
    5461 - F150 V8 5.0L Crew Cab v8 4x4 -> 360hp = 0.066 hp/lb (14/19/16)
    5,146 - Ram 1500 V6 8spd SLT Quad Cab 4x4 -> 305hp = .059 hp/lb (16/23/19)
    ???? - Ram 1500 V8 8spd SLT Quad Cab 4x4 -> = ??? hp/lb (15/21/19)
    5104 lbs - Silverado 1500 V6 AT 4x4 -> 285hp = 0.056 hp/lb (17/22/19)
    5201 lbs - Silverado 1500 V8 (5.3L) AT 4x4 -> 355hp = 0.068 hp/lb (16/22/18)
    5185 - Tundra v8 4.6L Dbl Cab 4x4 -> 310hp = 0.060 hp/lb (14/18/16)
    5625 - Tundra v8 5.7L Dbl Cab 4x4 -> 381hp = 0.068 hp/lb (13/15/17)
    4205 (+100lbs?) - Taco TRD Supercharger 6spd/MT 4x4 ACab -> 304hp = 0.072 hp/lb

    So I figured that while the mileage isn't the best (some of the larger v8 silverado/ram's beat it and get more power) they are also quite a bit more expensive and have many small features which from my past experience with an Audi the small features break over time and cost a lot to fix over the life of the vehicle. Being on the upper end of my price-range already the taco was the same or slightly more than the v6 variants of the big 3 when I hagled prices at dealerships. The larger size-v8 variants especially the Tundra were always much more expensive ($5,000-6,000+) and the smaller v8's didn't give much of a difference in power to weight ratio to be considered.

    I figured the supercharger could be added on at any point if I deem it needed so for my requirements the taco made sense.

    Thus to end this long diatribe the power is a little low, but can be fixed, and really there isn't much else out there without spending oodles more on a big v8.

    I'm bored working the dead night shift at work on the holiday, does it come through? :p

    I regret buying the navigation option. It is shit. Directed me to turn the wrong way down a one-way in a major city. It wasn't a fluke because I could get the direction to repeat by rerunning the route from a different direction, just bad data in the maps.

    Agree about the navigation option. Very poor. I purchased the navigation option to get the JBL audio, which I think is pretty good.

    I had BM initially, but after now having the Baja since March, and mod'ed it to take care of the little things that was driving me bat shit, I really like it and am in for the long haul.
    Very happy with the decision now and a lot of thanks to this forum and the advise on it.

    I originally had a access cab gen 1 taco and loved it. I only sold it bc I needed 4 doors so I ended up selling it (for $2k more than I bought it and 30k miles later) for a '13 TRD sport DCSB. If I were to do it all over again, I would also consider getting the Long bed as I've had more than one instance where the 5" bed just didn't cut it. I also don't regret not getting the 4x4 bc I don't off-road and would rather spend the money getting a supercharger.

    Not really remorse

    I traded my 2010 SR5 for my 2012 Sport with limited feeling of up upgrade. But I like the truck.

    I'll seriously consider a tundra next.

    2014 Tundra dbl cab would only be about 2k more than my tacoma. They are discounting them already here.
