most people's injury don't heal properly because after the inflammation is gone they just let it sit and don't do anything. mobility excercise and flossing the muscles really helps after a injury.

Most common injury I see at the gym. Most people I see agitate it from bench pressing and dips. Mine gets sore after a heavy bench day. I'd either go light for a while or really be carful on your range of motion. A rotator injury takes forever to fully recover from.

I read some stuff online that said benching a lot with a straight bar and not using dumbbells can cause rotator cuff injuries due to the restricted range of movement. I'm guilty of that. I have been trying to increase my bench a lot over the past few months. I'm gonna try to swap it up more.

interesting, I was always under the impression that your body can only take so much, stretching and knowing your bodies limits is the key to not scoring the cuff area.

Sounds like you have some internal rotation going on. Quick test, stand up with your back flat against the wall. If your shoulders blades make full contact your good, from the sound of it, I don't think yours will touch. It's a very common problem. The key to fixing it is scapular retraction work at very light weight. This helps strengthen the posterior delts and lats which will pull your shoulders back into a neutral plane. Also like t4r4 already said, smash and floss. You have to break up the tissue in order to create better mobility and comfortable movement patterns. If you need info on mobility, check out mobilitywod.com
This stuff will also help those who get numb arms or hands after benching or dipping. While creating that pump, your shoulders collapse forward and impinge upon the brachial plexus which causes nerve impingement. Everyone who works out should do some of this smash and floss and retraction work weekly.

Been doing a buncha shoulder and tricep work lately to bring up my benching, we shall see if all that paid off today.

How do I fix the issue of my pants waist band having like an inch and a half of room, but the pants around my quads and hammies is like a 16 year olds skinny jeans. Seriously this is my mid life crisis right now.
